Availability
Carmen works remotely weekdays and takes 10-15min breaks throughout the day to play with the pup, including a walk midday for lunchtime. Caitlin is home weekdays before 9am and after 5:30pm, as well as some WFH days. We typically do weekday morning and evening walks together. Weekends we are both home. Any day, you can expect updates between 9:30am and 8:30pm. We are fairly flexible and like to work with you on a 30-minute window of time for drop off/pick up between 8am and 8pm. Pickups or drop-offs outside of those hours adds a $15 charge to the booking. We require a minimum of 2 nights for any weekend night booking, 3 for holidays. If your booking (or schedule) does not meet this requirement, then we will accept the booking after adding a fee equal to the charge of boarding for the night(s) that would meet our minimum nights for a weekend/holiday period.

We have two private outdoor spaces for doggie sunning / outdoor lounging between walks, and live around the block from a very dog-friendly park. Our neighborhood is great for dog walking—we know all the best streets for walks, coffee shops with treats, bars with bowls, and neighborhood dogs from the years of walks as former dog owners. Our home is air-conditioned, dog friendly, and has no children or other animals of any kind. Doggos are free to hang upstairs, downstairs, or (when we are on the same floor as they) move freely in/out of 2 enclosed outdoor spaces--great for naps in the sun (or immediate relief of incontinent seniors between normal walk intervals). We don’t feed from the table and love to know your treat routines and any special words or tricks your pupper responds to. Hot weather? We check the pavement & time walks to be during paw-safe temps. Ice melt in the winter? Happy to strap on boots and/or wash paws as soon as we return. Donning raincoats and sweaters also no problem--pups will stay as cozy and dry in our care as in yours. We like to be prepared: in the unlikely (and unfortunate) event of a canine medical emergency, we will go to Philadelphia Animal Specialty & Emergency (2100 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia PA) and alert Rover & you immediately. From our own and our friends' experiences, the staff at PASE is wonderful and provide exceptionally thoughtful and skilled care, 24/7.

Information Carmen & Caitlin D. would like to know about your pet
Our late pup was a popular dame, and when we see friends she made / their humans, they are eager to say hello to canines in our care. If your doggo is uncomfortable with other dogs or would prefer to not interact with certain kinds of dogs (older, puppies, large, small, etc.), we will happily advise from a distance to keep everyone at ease!
A typical day
Long walks and time at neighborhood parks are our go-to. If your doggo is good with public spaces, then we'll take a water break at a local bar or coffeeshop, where we chill with a beverage while doggo enjoys a treat and fresh bowl of water from our fave staff. Weekends we drive to nearby parks, and would be happy to bring your pup along for a 1-3 hour hike. When rainy or too hot for extended outdoor time / long walks, we play indoor games (hide-and-seek, tuggies, find-the-treat). Any tricks you've trained, we will gladly do--just tell us the cues and responses to reward :)

Philly dog lovers
Pet care experience
We know your dog is a family member and companion, choose us and they will feel love and attention while you’re apart. Your pup will get plenty of cuddles and attention— we take only one dog into our home at a time, and prevent any overlap of daycare or boarding. Updates and photos of playtime and cuddles are key to keeping human minds at ease--we treasured these when traveling without our pup (RIP Ruby), and will send you pics and notes throughout your pup's stay. We had Ruby until we said goodbye at 15yo, fostered two puppies, and exchanged dog favors with friends many times—so have lots of experience with dogs at all stages of life and energy. Young dog zoomies or providing gentle help with stairs, hours of walking or minimalist “business” trips, we know what to do.
Reviews

Carmen and Caitlin are wonderful. Foxy doesn’t like everyone but definitely liked them! Their genuine love of dogs shines through and we are so happy to have found them and so is Foxy. 100% recommend!

This was my second time booking with Carmen and Caitlin and they were excellent! My pup is a rescue who comes with some quirks and they did a great job caring for her and making sure she was comfortable and loved. I’d highly recommend them.

Carmen and Caitlin took great care of my pup, Kandy. They were communicative, kept me updated on any issues, and sent photos everyday. I was originally a little nervous to leave her with new people for almost a week, but we did a meet and greet beforehand that made me feel much better and confident that Kandy would be in great hands. I highly recommend!!

Carmen and Caitlin are great with boarding my pup. Carmen is great at communicating and easy to work with. I know my pup is in great hands and gets the regular excercise she needs while she’s with them!
