I have the sweetest senior cocker spaniel as my adorable step-dog, and I partner with Polka Dogz Pet Rescue to foster small to medium size dogs. I’ve been lucky enough to foster over two dozen dogs who have moved on to their forever homes. I also volunteer at their shelter, doing intake, feedings, walks, medication distribution, and clean-up, usually for multiple dogs at once. I love to cuddle and go on at least three walks per day, typically no more than 4-8 hours in between. I have experience with senior dogs, medicine distribution, and some very basic behavioral training. One on one time is my favorite, so I prefer to only take on one family at a time, though if a family has multiple dogs I’m fully capable.

Safety, trust & environment
I prefer to stay at clients’ homes full-time during a booking; this way, the animals are in a safe and familiar environment even if they are with a person who may be new to them. I am comfortable crating dogs if necessary, or distributing medication, both orally and topically. For families with multiple pets, I ensure each one gets as much individual attention as possible so they know that they are loved!

Carlye is great! Although she has sat for us in the past, she still came and did a meet and greet prior to the booking at our new place. The dogs seem comfortable with her and excited to see her. She left the house clean, walked the dogs and sent pictures.
Carlye is absolutely amazing with my old, cranky chihuahua. She is a Godsend to us!
I so appreciated all Carlye did for my little dog, cat and house. She stayed in touch when the electricity went out and the cat ran out of food (my fault). We came home to a clean house with sheets in the washing machine and she even gave our dog a bath. Carlye is a very resourceful, sweet gal!

Schedule
I am typically available all day on Friday and Saturdays. I do work full time during the week, but would be available for morning and afternoon/evening walks and care. I can be flexible with my schedule, though, and could accommodate a long-term set arrangement.

- I prefer my clients to be housebroken, though I do have experience with doggy diapers if necessary. I’m very accepting of a lot of personality types, and if your dog needs space, I’m happy to oblige. I’m more comfortable with smaller dogs, simply because I’m a small person, and larger dogs give me a run for my money! If your dog has any particular quirks or preferences (for example, doesn’t get along with other animals or tends to jump) I am readily adaptable. A list of notes for care is always helpful!
