Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine since my partner and I both work from home. We’re home throughout the day, so caring for a dog isn’t something we have to “fit in”—it’s part of our everyday life. Our mornings typically start with a walk and outdoor time in our fenced yard, followed by a calm workday with regular breaks for play, bathroom breaks, and attention. We build in walks and activity based on each dog’s energy level, whether that’s longer walks or shorter, more frequent outings. Evenings usually include another walk, feeding, and relaxed time at home. On weekends, we’re often outside and can offer more time for longer walks or outings if that suits the dog. Because we already have our dog Moose and have experience fostering, we’re used to structuring our days around a dog’s needs—whether that’s sticking to a routine, providing extra supervision, or adjusting for dogs who need a bit more care or patience. Overall, dogs are a consistent and enjoyable part of our routine, not an add-on, which means they get lots of attention, structure, and care throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment

I focus on creating a safe, calm, and consistent environment for every dog, whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in a client’s home. In my home: Dogs become part of our daily routine. With my partner and I working from home, they get lots of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. We follow your dog’s normal schedule as closely as possible—feeding times, walks, and any specific routines that help them feel comfortable. We have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, plus daily walks and play based on your dog’s energy level. Our dog Moose is friendly and used to sharing his space, but I always prioritize safe introductions and make sure every dog feels comfortable. I’m also very mindful of different temperaments and needs, and can adjust the environment to be more calm, structured, or active depending on the dog. In your home (drop-ins or house sitting): I aim to keep everything as familiar and stress-free as possible. I stick closely to your instructions and your dog’s routine, including feeding, walks, medications (if needed), and any specific care details. I make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also keeping your home tidy and secure.

Information Carly S. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for any dog, I like to get a clear understanding of their routine, personality, and specific needs to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. Some of the most important things I like to know ahead of time include: • Temperament and behaviour: How they are with new people, other dogs (including Moose), and different environments • Daily routine: Feeding schedule, walk routine, sleep habits, and anything that helps them feel settled • Energy level and exercise needs: Whether they’re more active or prefer a calmer pace • Training and commands: Any cues they know or behaviours you’re working on • Medical needs: Medications, allergies, injuries, or anything I should keep an eye on • Triggers or anxieties: Anything that might make them nervous (e.g., loud noises, separation, other dogs) • House rules: Crate training, furniture boundaries, or anything specific you’d like reinforced I also love to do a meet-and-greet beforehand when possible. It helps make sure your dog feels comfortable in our home, gets to meet Moose, and allows us to go over everything together. The more I know upfront, the better I can tailor the experience to keep your dog happy, safe, and feeling at home.

A typical day

We love making sure dogs are not just cared for—but genuinely having fun and staying engaged. In our home, we offer a mix of physical activity, play, and mental stimulation based on each dog’s personality and energy level. We go on daily walks, spend time playing in our fenced yard, and make sure there’s plenty of interaction and attention throughout the day. One thing that sets us apart is that we have some agility-style equipment set up in the yard, which is great for dogs who enjoy a bit of extra stimulation and play. We keep it fun and low-pressure—things like small jumps, weaving, or obstacle-style play to keep them active and mentally engaged. We also include: • Fetch, tug, and interactive play • Sniff time and exploration (great for mental enrichment) • Relaxed hangout time for dogs who prefer a calmer pace • Social time with our dog Moose (if it’s a good fit) Every dog is different, so we tailor activities to what they enjoy most—whether that’s high-energy play or a slower, more relaxed routine.

Pet care experience

Hi! I offer dog sitting through Rover and truly treat every dog like part of our family. My partner and I work from home, which means your dog will rarely be left alone and will get consistent attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. We have a secure fenced yard for safe outdoor time, plus we love getting out for daily walks and fresh air—perfect for dogs who enjoy being active. We share our home with our 5-year-old dog, Moose, who is friendly and used to being around other dogs. Through both owning and fostering, we’ve had experience with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs—from playful and social pups to dogs who need a bit more patience, structure, or a calm environment. What sets us apart: • Constant presence: We work from home, so your dog won’t be left alone for long periods • Safe space: Fully fenced yard and a calm, comfortable home environment • Experience: Hands-on experience with fostering and caring for dogs with different temperaments and needs • Active lifestyle: Regular walks, playtime, and enrichment tailored to your dog • Personalized care: We take the time to understand your dog’s routine, preferences, and any special requirements We know how important it is to trust someone with your dog, and we’re committed to making sure both you and your pup feel comfortable, confident, and happy.

I am recovering from a knee replacement and unable to take Tory, my mini labradoodle , for a "real" walk at this time. Carly has been my walking legs, and takes Tory out for an hour 3 times a week. Carly has been wonderful, and she and Tory are bonding quickly! She has shown up on time, and is a delightful person. She certainly will be my first choice should I need dog walking services in the future. I would definitely recommend Carly for anyone needing a happy, energetic and gentle dog walker. 5 Stars, Carly!!!

I have trusted Carly with my Maltese on several occasions and was blown away by how attentive and caring she was! She sent me daily pictures of their walks, allowing me to feel comfortable being away from my dog! I have known Carly over 5 years and can say she is one of the most reliable people I know who would do anything for the people in her life. I know she would treat anyone’s dog as if they were apart of her family.

Carly is an animal lover. Her life would be complete if she could have her own furry friend alas her schedule won’t allow it at this point. This service would be the next best thing for Carly. She is responsible and friendly and very good with animals. She loves dog walking. It brings her great joy.
