Availability
When you book me, I will try my best to come at the time you request, but I appreciate some flexibility on this, as sometimes I am trying to fit in a few animals in a small window of time (e.g. a couple of cat households who are all eagerly awaiting dinner!) This requires some strategic shuffling on my part to accommodate everyone's needs as best I can and to keep all my clients in the routine they are used to.

Safety, trust & environment
For overnight stays, I will spend chunks of the day and all of the night at your home, following the usual feeding and walking routine. I will not leave dogs alone for any longer than 6 hours maximum. This amount of time allows me to do my other drop-in visits around town and run short errands.
Information Carly S. would like to know about your pet
I appreciate detailed care instructions, a thorough introduction to your pet's personality and any health issues, and you (or an emergency contact) being available to answer questions should they arise.
A typical day
Cats will enjoy litter boxes cleaned daily, an opportunity for ample loving human interaction, plenty of playtime, and fresh food and water in clean dishes. All in the comfort of their own home with a human who loves them.

Sweet Andersonville Pet Sitter ❤️
Pet care experience
Hello! I am a full-time petsitter who strives to provide exceptional, loving care to all my animal clients. Please read my whole bio to see if we're a good match. I am reliable (I have yet to miss or cancel an appointment at the last minute across 300+ bookings), communicative with my updates, and extremely kind to animals. It is a privilege and goal of mine to develop long-term relationships with animals over the years. I am proud to have many repeat clients who trust me to do a wonderful job each time. And I am proud to be several Chicago pets' BFF (some of whom were described to me as shy or anxious). It is genuinely a dream come true to spend my days with animals, and I take my job very seriously. I promise to always stay the entire time I am booked for (though I almost always spend a few minutes extra if my schedule allows), to pay close attention to care details, to offer lots of snuggles and playtime, and to keep you informed about what's going on with lots of pictures and summaries of visits. I also promise to be respectful of your home and not leave a mess. I offer interactive, loving visits with an extremely high level of meticulousness towards care tasks. I consider myself more in tune with cats than dogs overall, but I love all animals and have clients of different species (cats, rabbits, dogs - and open to others for sure!) I know cats to be very social creatures who enjoy human company and need regular visits when their humans are away. I offer a gentle presence for cats wanting a lap to sit on, and lots of playtime for those who enjoy chasing a wand toy. I also respect cats who are shy, and will always let your cat initiate contact with me. I carry tasty treats for cats who are allowed a snack now and then. I try to give dogs lovely walks with plenty of time to sniff and explore. I don't rush dogs on walks, because I strongly believe that walks are social excursions in addition to exercise. I try to vary our routes sometimes to explore different scenery. I enjoy taking my dog clients on little adventures, such as into a pet shop to get a treat, or for an occasional pup cup at Starbucks if this is permissible. Beaches and parks, if nearby, are always great for mental stimulation. You will be able to see the route we took in the Rover card I send you! I am open to dog clients of all sizes and breeds who are well-trained. I am by no means a dog expert nor a trainer, but I do have ample love, patience, kindness, and time to offer well-behaved dogs. If your dog is not good on walks or is reactive or has bad separation anxiety, a dog behaviorist is a better fit for them. I offer a free meet and greet before confirming any booking. This is to ensure that it feels like a good fit for both you and me. For safety reasons, and for the cat's wellbeing, I will not accept requests that want to me to visit cats every other day (instead of at least once daily). I am dedicated to ensuring that animals I look after are receiving adequate care, and I believe that 48 hours is far too long to be without a check-in. I sincerely care about every one of my clients, and my high quality care and my desire to only work with diligent and loving owners is a testament to this. I request that you book 60-minute visits for cats who are social. My 60 minute rate is literally $5 more than my 30 minute rate in order to incentivize people to book adequate time for pets, almost all of whom need and crave quality time. I am an advocate for proper cat care and animal welfare in general, and I only take jobs with people in agreement with these values.

no notes. fabulous job dealing with my decrepit old grump who hissed at her and barfed everywhere.

Carly is awesome, always going above and beyond! I'm even starting to worry that my cat likes her more than me. 😿 Lots of photos, videos, and thoughtfully written updates!
