Hi there! My name is Carissa, or Rissa for short. I love animals, especially dogs, more than anything in the world and take my role as a pet care professional very seriously. My priority is your pet and I will care for them as my own - they are part of our families, after all! I actively and diligently provide undivided care and attention to your pet while in my care and you can be sure that I will always prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness. I have cared for animals all my life, but I have a special place in my heart for dogs. My love for dogs allows me to foster connections with them built on trust and mutual respect. Dogs are more than just pets to me; they're vital members of families and communities and help bring love and positivity into the world, so they deserve to be treated with the best care available. As a pet parent, I understand the importance of carefully following care instructions and protocol such as feeding times and food portions, grooming needs, socialization with other pets, and care routines. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have also spent years caring for dogs as a sitter, walker, and groomer. In these roles I have demonstrated my ability to work professionally with dogs and their parents, help teach behavioral commands to dogs, communicate effectively with clients, manage time effectively, exhibit punctuality, adapt to changing work schedules and environments, and help make dogs happier and healthier. I have worked with breeds of all shapes and sizes from Chihuahuas and Dachshunds to Great Danes and Pit Bulls. I am comfortable with all animals, breeds, and ages and confident that I will provide pet care of the highest caliber. My hours are flexible and I am able and willing to travel to you.

Safety, trust & environment
At home I take every precaution to ensure the safety and security of my own dogs. As a pet care provider, I extend that same care and precaution to you and your pet family. During my visits I am diligent about securing all entrances and exits in your home and yard. I will remove any potentially dangerous objects from your pet's reach. I make sure your pet has plenty of fresh water and a clean environment. I respect your pet's boundaries and do my best to pay attention to their unique forms of communication. Before leaving your home I double check to make sure your pets are safe and secure, your home is secure, and that I've locked up properly.

This is the second time I have booked a walk with Carissa for both my pugs. She responds very quickly and good communication. She followed the instructions we asked for our pups and appreciated that she let us know how the walks went along with pictures. Would book again in the future!

Schedule
I work at Disneyland in the evenings so I am available to care for your pets during the day! I enjoy my work as a pet care provider and allow plenty of room in my schedule to meet your needs.

- I do not have breed preferences. Prior to caring for your dog I learn about rules and protocol that pet parents use with their dogs, such as behavioral commands, and I learn about any and all medical and dietary needs and/or restrictions. I have experience meeting such needs, as long as they are communicated to me. I also need to know if your dog has aggressive tendencies or triggers. Additionally I would also like to know about your dog's socialization habits. For example, I would like to know if your dog is comfortable around other dogs or pets, children, people, etc. Since I like to take dogs out to walk and play, this is very important information. I would also like to know how often your dog is used to exercising and playing so I can be sure s/he does not become bored or overexerted.
