Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are my top priorities in every service I offer. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I keep a calm, clean, and structured environment while following each pet’s routine closely. I always ask about feeding instructions, potty schedule, leash rules, and any triggers or special needs so I can provide consistent care. I’m careful with door and gate safety, use secure leashing practices on walks, and closely monitor pets for stress signals or changes in behavior. I respect clients’ homes, keep everything tidy and secure, and I communicate consistently with regular updates and photos so owners always feel informed and comfortable.

Information Carissa G. would like to know about your pet

I like to know your pet’s daily routine (feeding times, potty schedule, walks), personality and energy level, and any training commands they know. I also ask about medical needs, allergies, medications, and any past injuries. It’s helpful to know if they have behavior triggers (reactive to other dogs, fear of men/loud noises, separation anxiety), and whether they’re okay with dog parks, hiking, or being around other animals/children. Lastly, I like to know their favorite toys/treats, and what helps them feel most comfortable in a new environment.

A typical day

I always follow the dog’s normal routine as closely as possible (feeding times, potty breaks, walk schedule, and any special instructions). For fun and exercise, I like to do neighborhood walks, playtime, dog park trips (if approved), and hikes/outdoor adventures for higher-energy pups. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, enrichment, and calm downtime, and I’ll send photo updates throughout the day.

Pet care experience

For the past 9 years, I cared for my own dog and learned firsthand what consistent, trustworthy pet care really takes — especially with energetic, strong personalities and pets who need structure. I’m patient, attentive, and very routine-focused. I’m also familiar with the pet care world because a close friend of mine ran a dog daycare farm, so I’m comfortable around multiple dogs, different temperaments, and the type of routines that keep pets safe, happy, and calm. What sets me apart is that I prioritize reliable routines: plenty of walks, consistent feeding/potty schedules, enrichment, and lots of loving attention. I treat every pet like family while still providing structure so they feel secure. (I don’t have children in my home I can’t find where to edit that part of the profile)
