Working with animals is a passion of mine I will always make time for! Rover is currently my only position and I have a flexible schedule. However if you’re interested in weekly recurring walks/drop ins, I only schedule those between the hours of 8am-6:30pm, Monday-Friday. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I pay close attention to each dog’s body language and adjust my approach to make sure they feel safe, understood, and comfortable during our time together. I take pet care very seriously and invest in tools and training to provide the safest experience possible. I use a secure safety belt system designed for dog walkers to prevent escapes, and I carry safety equipment to deter loose animals if needed. I’ve also completed training courses to be prepared for medical or situational emergencies. During every visit, I reinforce good behavior with positive rewards and keep an eye out for any signs of discomfort or health concerns so your pet stays happy, safe, and well cared for.

A typical day
I like to start our day with enrichment! Depending on the dog this could include frozen dog treats/kongs, stuffed toys sprayed with essential oils safe for dogs, a treat challenge ect. I like to walk local parks, go for car rides, and reward all good behaviors to improve commands and manners.

Many of my clients have been walking with me regularly for over two years, and I’m proud to be a trusted pet sitter in my community. I also have over two years of experience working in humane societies as an Animal Care Specialist and Animal Enrichment Coordinator. I’m experienced with medication administration, behavior observation, enrichment for dogs and cats, senior and special-needs care, and basic training. Carissa has been walking our dogs, a husky and a mini Goldendoodle, five days a week for several months. She is consistent, reliable and communicative. She is also very go with the flow - and has been able to adapt to dogs being at different houses, different family members being home, a new baby in the house etc. Our dogs love their time with Carissa and come home happy and well-exercised. We would recommend her to any dog parents looking for someone to help care for their pups!

We could not have asked for a better person to care for our pets. Carissa has been with our family since Finnie (our golden retriever puppy) was just a few months old, and over that time she played an incredibly meaningful role in his growth and development. She went far beyond basic care — helping reinforce potty training and foundational commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake, while also teaching him fun skills like high fives, dancing, and running between our legs. Caring for a young, energetic, large dog isn’t always easy, and Carissa handled every phase with patience, consistency, and genuine love — even on Finnie’s tougher days. She was a steady, trusted presence in his life, and we always knew he was safe, cared for, and understood when he was with her. She was also wonderful with our cat, Walter, always checking in on him during visits and even bringing in our packages — thoughtful touches that truly showed how much care she put into our home as a whole. Communication was always clear and kind, and it was obvious she treated our pets as if they were her own. We are endlessly grateful for everything Carissa has done for our family, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Any pet would be incredibly lucky to be in her care.
