Pet care experience

Dog mom caring for your pets

Hi, I’m Caren! As a dog mom myself, I know the importance of having someone trustworthy, communicative, experienced, and loving to care for your pets. I have experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes (from Yorkies to Bernies and anything in between), as well as cats (single or multiple). I also have experience with seniors and even super seniors, as well as administering medications like pills, liquids, drops, and insulin shots. I look forward to helping your pets feel loved and cared for (and to sending you lots of pics of them)!

Caren was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond during her stay. Her circumstances changed after we booked and she did everything she could to ensure that she didn’t leave us hanging. It worked out and what we learnt about her in the process was that she is someone who is conscientious, trustworthy and will do what she can to make your pets (and you) comfortable. We will be using her again and have already booked her for regular walks.

Five stars aren't enough for Caren and Ben! We were unexpectedly stranded in Dallas due to a winter storm and our flights kept getting canceled. Caren was already staying at our home caring for Hailey, but she went above and beyond by bringing Hailey to her own home to keep her safe through the storm. She kept us updated the whole time and made sure we never had to worry. Knowing Hailey was with such a caring, loving family made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier to handle. We couldn't have asked for better caregivers. Highly recommend Caren without hesitation!

Phenomenal sitter! Caren was absolutely incredible with our dog, Curie. From the start, it was clear how thoughtful and attentive she is. Caren sent wonderful end-of-day summaries that were detailed and reassuring. It meant so much to know not just that Curie was “fine,” but how her day actually went. She also made sure Curie got plenty of playtime and engagement. Curie loved hanging out with her! We would absolutely book with Caren again and recommend her without hesitation. She is warm, responsible, communicative, and clearly cares deeply about the dogs she watches.

Schedule

I work a remote job from home so my schedule is flexible. My husband and I currently have one 5 year old dog who is the light of our lives. We also regularly help my parents with their 16 year old dog and two cats.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe in paying attention to pets’ needs and how they communicate them. This includes understanding what might make them nervous and what strategies can be implemented to help them feel more comfortable. This also includes regular communication with owners to provide reassurance to them (and their pets)!

Pets

A typical day

Walks around the neighborhood are a great way to stimulate your dog and explore new places. There are also great indoor activities I like to do with dogs (and cats if they’re interested) like hide and seek, playing with toys, practicing basic commands, and snuffle activities if that’s something your dog is into.

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, including any potential limits on exercise. It’s also helpful to know if there are things they don’t like — such as pets in a certain area of the body or triggers on walks (like other dogs) that we need to be aware of. It’s also helpful to know what they love! What’s their favorite toy? Where in the home do they feel most comfortable? If there are multiple pets, what is their dynamic? All of these will help me know your pet better and make them more comfortable.
