I’m an all-around animal lover, with a special place in my heart for cats and small animals. I’ve been caring for pets since I was ten years old, including cats, guinea pigs, fish, and even hermit crabs. Now in my late twenties, I’m the go-to pet caregiver for friends, family, and neighbours. My love for cats runs especially deep. I adopted my beloved cat Violet from the Ottawa Humane Society in 2016. She was a senior and had special needs, and caring for her for seven wonderful years taught me patience, gentleness, and how important it is to meet each cat where they are. I’m also comfortable caring for small animals like hamsters, fish, and bunnies, and I’m always happy to follow your care routines to make sure your pet feels safe, calm, and well loved. Your pets will be treated like family.

It's always a leap of faith to leave one's little friends (in my case, two cats) in the care of someone new and unknown, but it worked out perfectly with Caralyn and Ethan. Our cats took to them right away, and were very relaxed and comfortable in the photos we received, and in person when we picked them up. They clearly had a great time, and received lots of love and attention. Caralyn and Ethan will be my first choice to look after them again in the future, and I have no hestitation in recommending them to take care of your pets. When I was away on vacation, it was great knowing my kitties were also having a comfortable and safe vacation.
Caralyn & Ethan C recently took my cat into their loving home for almost a month while I was travelling. They were very helpful and warm and communicated well with me to ensure that all my cat’s necessities, vet information and means to communicate with me were sorted out in advance of the dropoff day. I received adorable little updates and photos of my pet living her best life in their care - it was very comforting. They also brought my cat in for a checkup one evening and kept me posted every step of the way. I highly recommend Caralyn & Ethan C to any cat parents out there who want to KNOW that their cat is going to be loved and well looked after. Having that kind of peace of mind helped me actually make the most of my trip and not just be agonizing over not being with my cat. Thank you!!
Caralyn and Ethan were the perfect sitters for our cat over the holiday! They were very thorough and communicative both before and during Louis’s stay at their apartment, and so friendly and enthusiastic about hosting. I was amazed that we were their first time pet sitting for Rover - I would have thought they were long-time pros! Louis had a great time with them. It was such a comfort to know that he was staying with people who adored him as much as we do. We will definitely be rebooking with Caralyn and Ethan the next time we need a sitter!

I work on a hybrid schedule which means I have some flexibility in my daily routine. I work from home most days and go into the office twice per week.

Safety, trust & environment
I believe in letting pets set the pace. When an animal is new to me or my home, I give them the time and space they need to feel safe and settled. I don’t force affection but I do quietly check in, keep an eye on how they’re adjusting, and win hearts with the occasional well-timed treat. Our apartment building is fully pet-friendly, and our home is too. Pets are welcome on the furniture, and we’re unfazed by fur, scratches, or the occasional mess. This is a relaxed, cozy space where animals are free to be themselves and feel right at home.
A typical day
My days follow a relaxed, predictable rhythm. Mornings start with a short walk to the coffee shop, then it’s back home where I work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After work, evenings are slow and cozy; cooking dinner, unwinding at home, or heading to the park across the street for fresh air and a little ping-pong. It’s a calm routine with plenty of time and attention for pets who enjoy consistency, company, and a peaceful environment
