Teacher & Dog Lover

Hi, Everyone! My name is Cara. Thank you for visiting my page. My strong admiration for animals has only grown more with the more animals I meet and as a result, it brings me genuine happiness. It is a rewarding experience to be able to take care of any animal that needs it while their owner is away. Since starting Rover in August 21’, I’ve had 10+ repeat clients and have established great friendships with families/people in the community as a result. I have a M-F teaching position 8am-4pm and summer months off. I am currently a part time Binghamton University graduate student studying for a masters degree in early childhood special education. A little history: I grew up with a miniature schnauzer (Zoie) whom towards the end of her life, needed constant supervision and was administered medicine 3x/ day, grooming/washing daily. I was always there to comfort her until the end of her life and spoiled her beyond belief. Myself and my family provided care to my mini schnauzer for over 12 years. As a child, I never had a dog sitter to send updates, pictures/videos for my sweet Zoie when my family would travel, so I strongly understand the importance of quick and reliable communication/sending updates while you’re away to ease your anxiety. Experience - administering medicine/injections - cats, big dogs, small dogs, senior animals, special needs pets, pigs, cows, chickens. -exercise/run with your pet -hospice/end of life care (Repositioning every hour, hand feeding, massages, cooking packs, frozen bone broth snacks on warmer days, the list goes on) Pets and animals deserve to be spoiled but most importantly, they deserve to be loved. I have a white pitbull fur baby (Minnie). Shes a loyal, sweet and well behaved dog, I’m so lucky and thankful for her every day as she brings me so much happiness. She stays at home with her other best friend, my significant other while I’m away. If you think I’d be a good fit for your fur baby or have any questions or concerns, I’m here to answer them all and hope you will consider me to take care of your pet.

Cara is absolutely wonderful. She truly cares and gets to know your pet. She communicates very well during the stay. I have to admit, I was initially a little apprehensive hiring a "stranger" for my Tucker, those fears quickly subsided. Cara is the absolute best!!

We have had Cara sit our two dogs numerous times they love her. We leave for a week at a time Cara stays in our home, she’s very trust worthy. All my wife has to say is Cara’s coming they run around looking for her. We hope Cara stays a sitter for quite a while. You will be very happy with Cara.

This was our first time boarding our 2 pups in a private home, and let me tell you, out was worth the short drive! Cara and her own pup were such great hosts and caregivers! Cara communicated with pictures and videos every day and was a tremendous help with my older dog's special allergy needs. We will definitely be a return client with Cara, and I've already recommended her to a friend of mine.

Cara was so conscientious and took amazing care of my older pup, Beau. Always in contact, which was a relief.

Please let me know if pets have any special needs, medication, or schedule. Please let me know if the pet is house broken, crate trained, has any behavioral issues/past history as that is strongly preferred. I wouldn’t prefer/want to enter a home with a protective animal uncrated or without the owner there. A pre made written itinerary with schedule, vet contact information, emergency contact information, important info, etc. would be very helpful.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
