I have been a primary caretaker for cats and dogs for ten years (up to five at a time) and have also cared for fish, birds, pigs, cows, and more. I am diligent, responsible, communicative, and care deeply about our animal companions. In my free time, I love biking, hiking, and crafting. I bike almost everywhere and do 400+ mile tours, so am fit to handle high-energy dogs or multiple long walks a day. Having Cara watch our two dogs and our house was a great experience! She is extremely professional and communicative. She was very patient with our dog who is nervous around new people and made sure both of our pets got the love and attention they needed while we were away. She sent us updates and pictures multiple times a day, which was much appreciated. Highly recommended!
I contacted Cara two weeks before I was supposed to leave for vacation when my usual pet sitter had to cancel last minute. Cara was so accommodating and took wonderful care of my three cats and my apartment. I looked forward to the daily updates while I was on my trip!

Cara was great when watching Pepper. She showed up early so we could give her all the instructions for Pepper. She communicated often to let us know how Pepper was doing and sent regular updates. We'll definitely request Cara's services again in the future.

Calendar and availability
Schedule
My schedule is flexible and self-directed, so I can easily plan around the needs of you and your animal companions. I work from home so all I need is a couch or desk and the WiFi! I typically need at least a couple days' notice for a drop in or overnight, and generally don't schedule more than 4-8 weeks in advance. Still feel free to make a request though and I'll let you know if I can make it work. I enjoy drop-ins and overnight stays, and have stayed in homes for up to a week. I'm open to longer stays as well, especially if I can have human visitors. Let me know your comfort with this if you're booking me for a week or more!
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
For short stays or drop ins, you can be assured that I am neat and tidy. I am happy to remove shoes in the home and of course clean up any messes that arise. For longer housesits, I can commit to regular cleaning and tasks like taking in mail or bringing garbage to the curb for pickup. I expect any cameras or other recording/streaming devices to be disclosed, per Rover policy. My work involves patient information protected by HIPPA, so I need to ensure my screen isn't on camera and my work calls aren't overheard. Thanks in advance for respecting my and my patients' privacy.
A typical day
This totally depends on what the animals like to do! I can take active dogs on long walks, or stay in to play with cats. All animals need social connection, and I am happy to provide that in addition to necessary care like walks, feedings, and medication.
