Pet care experience
🐾 Big or small, furry or bald 🐾
Hello and thank you for considering me to care for your pet! I have 20 years experience in all things dog and small-animal related, from volunteering and rescue to sitting to family pets. I'm comfortable handling a variety of personalities from the very timid and traumatized to the happy-go-lucky and doofy. For my own dogs, I've used positive reinforcement, trigger avoidance/management and Karen Pryor clicker-training methods if/when appropriate. I'm happy to provide fun and loving care to puppies, adolescents, adults, seniors and those requiring special attention (i.e. medicated/injured/reactive/newly-adopted/etc.) as well as caged animals such as rabbits, chinchillas, tropical birds and freshwater aquatics. Bully breeds are welcome! I have had the pleasure of being guardian to two Staffordshire Bull Terriers and one pit bull cross and understand the specific handling these pups may need. I would be happy to care for your pibble.

Cara was great! Hank was very comfortable with her. Lots of updates throughout the weekend. He came home a happy dog!

Once again, an impeccable experience with Cara ✨ Skye has built such a strong bond with her and is always happy to see her. As her owners, we don’t have enough words to describe how we feel. There is so much trust and peace of mind knowing that the care Skye receives goes far beyond the basics, it comes with genuine affection, patience, and an amazing partnership. Thank you for all your support, guidance, and the wonderful tips on how we can continue enriching Skye’s life and helping her thrive. You are truly a rare gem in this city 💕

Since Marbles was dog sat by Cara a while ago. Cara offered to do another meet n greet and asked lots of questions to get reacquainted. She was responsive to questions, gave updates and did a great job looking after Marbles. We will definitely book Cara again!

Cara always goes above and beyond during her weekly walks with Goose. She’s been so wonderful with him - reinforcing calm, helping with his training, offering great advice along the way, and generously assisting us as Goose practices his calmer greetings (she’s his favorite visitor, so it’s the best practice!). Always a pleasure to work with Cara, and to have her as our go to Rover sitter/walker for our boy! ☺️

Once again, we’re truly speechless with the level of care and professionalism. Skye is such a sensitive girl, and even after a whole year without seeing Cara, she was so happy she even cried 🥰 (that shows how much love and care she receives when she stays with her). The daily updates and photos always make us feel comfortable being away, because they help us feel close to her. Thank you so much for your time and the amazing work you do. ❤️

Cara has been great with our little pup Miso! We were worried about boarding her for so long but Cara gave regular updates and has been amazing🙌

Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
During boarding and daycare, your dog will be a part of our family and receive the frequency of potty breaks and interaction appropriate for their needs. They will also have a walk/outdoor play session to begin and end the day, duration dependent on their activity level. I take plenty of breaks to engage with them so they feel included in the household and family. Dogs are allowed on my sofa but not usually on my bed, but are always welcome to sleep in my bedroom on as many fluffy blankets and cushions as they want! For dogs who require walks including boarders and day care visitors, I prioritize safety by limiting weight to 50lbs and under for strong pullers/sudden lungers. Dogs who are reliably relaxed on leash may be 100+lbs.
A typical day
I love taking dogs on long walks through quiet residential neighbourhoods to let them get in all the smells and sights they need. Playing Hide the Treat and other games/puzzles indoors is helpful for mental stimulation and a little bit of exercise, and I'm happy to keep up any training that your family is already working on. I keep Nina Ottosson and other puzzles on hand for entertaining our doggo visitors and cuddles are always included with every visit :)
