Safety, trust & environment
I have a reactive dog so I have experience keeping dogs safe in environments with other dogs and limiting reactions. I have participated in many training groups for reactive dogs with my own and I have a good understanding of how to keep dogs safe in a group or busy setting as well as good trail etiquette. I have experience with pet sitting in homes as well and have experience with dogs and pets that are prone to escaping and running away so I always exercise extra caution when entering and leaving the home! I also am always aware of my surroundings and the pets needs to do what needs to be done to keep them safe and happy!
Information Cara H. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any reactivity and what they are reactive to or any special requests you may have for the walk or pet sitting!
A typical day
With my dog, I enjoy long walks where I let him sniff and explore in open areas. I also usually incorporate structured parts too where we practice healing, sit, lie down and focus. I also enjoy taking my dog on runs with me ranging from 5km to 15km. With other dogs I have walked, I typically do on-and-off free and structured walking throughout the walk with lots of treats and fun games like sniffy, confidence building and leash work games!

Pet care experience
I have had experience with human and dog reactive dogs (including my own dog). I have been a dog walker in Vancouver for a year handling many different dogs! Working with so many different kinds of dogs has given lots of experience. I love dogs and have spent a lot of time with them doing hikes, training classes, runs and walks! I have been housing sitting for years and have looked after many animals including dogs, cats, horses, cows, sheep ect I have my K9 first aid certification as well!
Reviews

Cara is great! She went above and beyond looking after my cat

Happy and safe pup, reliable walker, what more could you want?

Pets are happy and the house looks great— what more could we ask for? ☺️ We would happily rebook Kara again.

Cara is fantastic. Dogs are happy to go with her for a walk and come home tired.
