Not only do I have my own dog, I volunteered at the Austin Animal Center and currently pet sit for friends. I have experience with large, reactive dogs and calm cats. My own dog is nearly 15 years old. I trained him and currently deal with all of his senior medical issues, like arthritis, glaucoma and taking plenty of meds. I know how important our fur babies are. I will care for yours like I would for my own. If your pet stays at my home, I will take my dog to my mothers so that your dog can have privacy. He loves her house so it's a win - win for everyone.

Cara was so wonderful to have today! She was communicative and kind. She picked up my walk request and coordinated very quickly. I can tell she cares about animals, she made sure she asked questions about River and sent a photo of their walk adventure! Can’t wait for River to get the chance to see her again!
Cara has cared for my 13 year old rescue many times. He is a sweetheart, but is large and reactive to other dogs so it's tricky to walk him outside. Cara is masterful at handling him. She also administers his meds safely and consistently. She follows my directions to the letter, and is very attentive and affectionate with him. Her love of dogs - and animals in general - is evident. The knowledge and training about handling dogs she has gained from volunteering at the local shelter is also apparent. She stays calm and collected, even when my dog is excited and barking. I have found her to be very responsive and reliable in all my dealings with her. I am totally comfortable entrusting my good boy to her.
Cara has been a great pet sitter and dog walker for us for a few years. She is very good at getting my old terrier to go on walks and is reliable! Highly recommend her.

Schedule
I work from home during the week so I'm most free in the evenings and weekends. My family is local so I'm almost always around at the holidays, like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a large 2 bedroom condo with a patio. There are stairs but my senior dog has never had an issue with them. I'm home a lot so I like to cuddle, play and walk. Dogs are allowed on furniture and anywhere else. I also have (fake) hardwood floors so cleanup is easy is a dog has an accident (as my senior dog has many times).
