I have a year and a half old dog who needs a LOT of engagement and exercise! We have a well-established routine around mealtimes, walks, playtime, and training. My schedule is already very dog-centered with my work hours designed to ensure my animals don’t go more than four hours without my direct engagement. I work from home, so my physical presence is always there, but active interaction is much different than them napping next to me, so I make sure they don’t have any long stretches without that.

I take my dog for three leashed walks a day. There is never any off leash activity unless excellent recall is reported and observed. My house is safety proofed for chewers and bored troublemakers!

Information Cara D. would like to know about your pet
As mentioned, please let me know if your dog is not responsive enough with recall to be let off of the leash. I’m happy to keep them on leash for all activities. I will be putting them in the car to take them for hikes, so please let me know if there are any special considerations needed for car travel. Resource guarding is something I’m able to manage, but I have to know ahead of time so that I can separate your dog from any others and watch for behaviors in group settings. Favorite snacks, command lists, and any other quirks are valued information! No detail is too small ♥️
A typical day
Frequent walks are a daily part of my and my dog’s routine, and your baby will come along! Weekdays include at least an hour of off-leash play in the local dog parks. Please note: I will not let your dog off leash unless you specifically instruct me to and I have observed their recall directly myself. Weekends include hikes in the Fells Reservation woods, swimming, and visiting dog-friendly beaches. I have many puzzle toys of varying difficulties for mental stimulation when the weather makes outdoor activities inaccessible. We also do lots of active play sessions in the house with tug toys, stuffed bones, ball throwing sessions, and training.

Pet care experience
I am a mental health professional working from home who absolutely loves spending time with animals! I pride myself on being attuned to your pet’s moods and needs to make them feel as listened to and cared for as possible while they’re away from home. I have an active dog myself, so we spend a lot of time on walks, in the park, and hiking. I am especially happy to take any dogs with anxiety or special needs who have a tough time away from their loved ones.
