Loving Home Away From Home for Pets
I have grown up with dogs my whole life. I was raised on a farm where I cared for many different animals, so providing attentive, responsible pet care has always come naturally to me. Now that I'm living in the city, I've decided to open my home to provide care to other pets while their owners are away. I have a golden retriever named Zeena, who is well-tempered, always happy and loves to play. Your dog will be treated like part of our family and enjoy a safe, loving “petcation” filled with care, companionship, and plenty of tail wags. I live in a large, clean, 3 bedroom apartment with Zeena and my husband and we have no children. There is plenty of space and near by parks for your pet to feel at home and comfortable. I have decided to pursue this as a part time passion because of my love for animals and will treat your pet as my own. I also have a very large crate at home which your pet is welcome to use, if you wish for them to be crated for parts of the day.

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Max. From the moment I dropped him off, Candice made me feel completely at ease. Throughout his stay, she kept me updated with thoughtful messages and so many adorable photos, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about him rather than simply watching him. The best part was seeing how comfortable and happy Max became. He loved following her around, curling up on her lap, and enjoying all the cuddles and attention. It truly felt like he was staying with someone who treated him like her own. Zeena is such a sweet girl too! She was so gentle and welcoming, and it was heartwarming to see the two of them become friends. They made such a cute pair, and I know having her around helped Max feel right at home. I’m incredibly grateful for the love, patience, and care Candice gave Max during my trip. Knowing he was safe, happy, and so well looked after made it so much easier for me to enjoy my time away. I would absolutely trust Candice with Max again and recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing sitter.

We had such an incredible experience with Candice on Rover — I truly can’t recommend her enough! We boarded our dog Oslo with her for 15 days, and from the very beginning, it was clear he was in the best hands. Candice treated Oslo like he was part of her own family, and that level of care and warmth meant so much to us. He came back home happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. One of the highlights was how well Oslo bonded with her sweet retriever, Zeena. The two of them got along instantly and played nonstop — it was so comforting knowing he had such a great companion during his stay. Candice’s apartment is also spacious and perfectly located near plenty of pet-friendly parks and amenities. This meant Oslo got regular walks, lots of outdoor time, and fun playdates with Zeena, which he absolutely loved. Candice was amazing with communication as well. She consistently shared updates and photos, which really put us at ease and allowed us to see just how much fun Oslo was having every day. It’s not easy leaving your pet for an extended period, but Candice made the entire experience completely stress-free. We’re so grateful for the love and care she gave Oslo, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly, highly recommend!

Schedule
Every morning before work, I take my golden retriever out for a 30 minute walk around 8am. This time is flexible given your pet's needs. I am able to take your pet out 3 times a day (or more if desired) which looks like a morning walk, about an hour after work and then a night time bathroom break before bed. On weekends, its common for us to go out to parks and trails in the city. One of our favourite places is Cedarvale park around Bathurst and St Clair which has a lot of green space for dogs to run and play.

I ask that all pet parents provide written instructions outlining any specific care needs, routines, or preferences so that I can maintain your dog’s regular schedule and ensure they receive the very best care possible. I live in a spacious three-bedroom apartment with plenty of room for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed. For safety and personalized attention, I only host dogs from one family at a time. This allows a calm environment and to be able to prioritize the wellbeing of your pet and my golden retriever. My dog Zeena, is my only child. She has a wonderful temperment and gets along very well with other animals. I have a large crate available if your dog is crate-trained and you prefer that option. My goal is simple: to make both you and your pet feel completely happy, comfortable, and confident while you’re away. My home is clean, pet-friendly, and designed to be a safe, loving space for your dog.

A typical day
I'm an active, outdoorsy person and love taking dogs to nearby parks and for walks along trails. One of the best trails I like to bring dogs to is at Cedarvale park. Fun activities include fetch, playing games, and exploring lots of new smells.
