Pet care fits naturally into my week. I’m available Monday to Friday and I serve all of Hamilton, Ontario. I’m reliable, punctual, and big on clear communication, so you’ll always know what time I’m arriving and how the walk went. I love building trust with both pets and people, especially with regular weekly walks.

About Candice B.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are my top priorities. I require a meet-and-greet before booking so I can learn your dog’s routine, cues, and any triggers. On walks, I use secure leash handling, stay aware of surroundings, and keep a respectful distance from unfamiliar dogs when needed (especially for reactive or nervous pups). I don’t force greetings, and I always follow your instructions closely. You’ll receive updates and photos/Rover Card notes so you know exactly how the walk went.

Information Candice B. would like to know about your pet

During our meet and greet, we'll go over: schedule & routine, home rules, behaviour & comfort, reactivity & triggers, health needs, house details (for in-home stays), emergency protocols.

A typical day

For drop-ins and overnight stays, I focus on keeping your pet’s day feeling as normal as possible. I’ll follow your routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any meds. During visits, I’ll do a quick wellbeing check (water, appetite, energy level), then we’ll do the right kind of activity for your pet—usually a walk at their pace with plenty of sniffing, plus some enrichment at home (playtime, puzzles). For higher-energy dogs, I balance physical activity with “brain work” so they’re happily tired and not overstimulated. For seniors, I’m happy to keep things gentle with shorter, slower walks and a focus on their comfort. I’ll send updates and photos so you’re always in the loop.

Pet care experience

I’ve been a dog parent for 9 years to Pearl (Jindo–Heeler mix) and Lucky (Havanese). I’m warm, calm, and safety-first. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and what helps them feel secure on walks. I’m comfortable with smart/stubborn working breeds, and I’m also happy to do slow-paced, enrichment-focused walks for senior dogs. With reactive dogs, I focus on steady handling, reading body language, and not forcing greetings. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, meet-and-greets are a must. I’ve completed the Red Cross online First Aid for Dogs and Cats course, and I’m taking in-person Pet First Aid with the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA in August. I’ve also volunteered with Hamilton Streetcats (TNR for stray cats/kittens).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Exceptional Care for Our Nervous Pup! We cannot recommend Candice highly enough! We were quite anxious about leaving our Schnoodle, Link, while we were out of town because he is typically very hesitant and uncomfortable around new people. However, Link warmed up to Candice almost instantly! Candice went above and beyond in every way during her stay. She expertly managed Link's nervousness with incredible patience and compassion, and she handled his daily medication dosage, giving us total peace of mind while we were away. Honestly, we joked that he was sadder to see her leave than he was happy to see us come home! If you are looking for someone who provides detailed, patient, and deeply compassionate care for your pets, Candice is the absolute best. We will definitely be booking her again!

Candice is a very caring dogsitter! Our furbaby Toby was a very anxious little guy yet we felt confident leaving him in Candice’s care for the weekend. She stayed close to him and gave him the attention and cuddles he needed. She made sure he stayed on his regular meals, walks, and sleep schedule, too. He was a calm and happy pup when we returned! Thank you, Candice!

Candice took excellent care of our senior dog in his advanced age for a weekend. She was responsible for potty breaks, feeding him, and making sure that he was safe at night on the main floor of our house. His eyesight was poor and she was a caring and responsible pet sitter for the weekend. I would trust her with any dog!

Candice cared for my sweet cat, Fry, many times over his short 14 years. She would visit him as many times as I needed her to, send me updates and pictures. Near the end of his life she was attuned to monitoring his health and helping with meds. Fry would gallop to the door to greet her. He definitely felt safe with her. I am thinking we should get another cat just so we can have Candice around again--- a true gem of a person.
