Are you looking for a reliable, experienced, and outdoorsy pet sitter in the Melrose area? I’m Cameron, a remote-working professional with a big love for dogs and an active lifestyle to match. For almost three years, I’ve been providing trusted pet care through Rover, looking after a wide range of dogs – many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of caring for long-term. Whether it’s a playful pup or a senior dog needing a gentler touch, I always take the time to get to know each one and tailor my care to suit their unique needs. Living and working remotely gives me the flexibility to offer round-the-clock companionship and attention. I’m often out hiking in the Borders countryside and love bringing dogs along for relaxed walks or more energetic adventures, whatever suits their pace and personality. My experience spans from working at a doggy daycare centre to volunteering at shelters and dog walking professionally. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and creating a calm, comfortable, and loving environment for them comes naturally. Whether you’re heading away for the weekend or need weekday support, I’m more than happy to provide a safe, fun, and affectionate home-away-from-home for your pup. When it comes to caring for pets, I prioritise creating a comfortable environment that mirrors their routine. Working from home allows me to provide constant companionship and ensure they're never alone for long stretches. I’m grateful to have the trails so close by and I frequent my parents house who have a fenced garden and no pets. And close to delightful walks and scenic routes, perfect for exploration.
Ratings and reviews
First time leaving Larry with anyone outside of family. Cameron was great - took Larry on a bunch of adventures and updated us daily which included photos. This was a big comfort. Wouldn’t hesitate in using Cameron again the future.
Cameron took super care of our collie, she gave us lots of updates and we’d be definitely book with her again if needed.
Cameron is a highly recommended dog sitter. Dolly is nervous and anxious, but Cameron was excellent with her, and we came home with a very happy little dog. It was lovely to get photos and updates during our time away. Would have no hesitation in booking Cameron again.
Second time using Cameron and again very happy with the excellent service. Our cocker Charlie very relaxed and content being left with Cameron and great to get pic and story updates. First class.

We are extremely happy with Cameron and family for looking after our cocker Charlie. We needed an extra bit of care and attention for Charlie and Cameron went the extra length to ensure he was well cared for. We got great updates daily on what Charlie had been up to with great pics that put our minds at ease. We’ve already got our next breaks with Cameron in the diary.

Schedule
I work from home which means I'll have plenty of time to play and look after your dog! I'm available for boarding on weekends and weekdays anytime.

- As a pet sitter, I aim to provide the best care for your dog while you're away. It's helpful for me to know their size, if they get along with other dogs, and any dietary preferences or restrictions you have. Additionally, if your dog has any fears or medical needs, like daily medication, I'll make sure to pay extra attention to them. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes and am committed to making sure they're happy and comfortable during their stay with me.
