I have been caring for dogs, cats and chickens since a very young age. I truly love animals and their personalities. In addition to many family animals, I have cared for pets belonging to extended family and various clients over the years, even raising two lab puppies one summer. Additionally, I have over two years experience working at a local animal shelter, handling puppies and older dogs, many in distress or confused by their situation. I am comfortable with special needs animals and patient with special requirements. I am currently taking a break from school and so have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. I have a car and few plans to be out of town. I am an extremely diligent and thoughtful caretaker. I understand the importance of leashing dogs for safety. I know how to navigate both standard and invisible fencing, always making sure gates latch or collars are operating. I recognize the importance of meal schedules and food prep and also know how to make sure dogs in particular don't get into food/items that are dangerous for them. I am also comfortable using crates. Lastly, I am respectful of clients' home environments, making sure dirty paws are wiped clean.
