I have always owned dogs since I was 5. Except for my 5 years in college, in which I owned a ferret instead. I have always been a dog lover my whole life. Growing up, the agreement was if I wanted to own a dog, I had to take care of it by myself. I'm very good with dogs. Some have called me the dog whisperer due to my ability to connect with most dogs. Leo our rescue chihuahua came from an abusive background. He rarely likes men, but it took a few minutes for him to warm up to me and he has learned that given a warm introduction to other men, he can trust them too. He never was like that at first. I also worked at Cloverleaf Dog Kennels for 5 years during college, so I have experience with handling dogs, grooming, boarding & kenneling them, as well as collecting urine samples for testing. My 18 year old daughter and my 15 year old son are excited to help as well. I'm a homeowner who has a fairly decent sized backyard. The dogs will have in and out access through a dog door to the backyard anytime they choose, unless you prefer them not to. I will always leave the dog door shut when I am watching smaller dogs, due to fear of hawks or owls swooping in on them. All small dogs require on hand supervision from me when they are in the backyard. I also have 2 dog crates if needed. One for a large dog and one for a medium. I live down the street from Fossil Creek Meadows Park and it's walking trails. I also live walking distance from the Fossil Creek Dog Park. I share 2 dogs with another person. So sometimes, it will be a chihuahua at my house, another time it will be a chocolate lab, maybe both, maybe neither. If you require neither to be there, I can arrange they both stay at their other place of residence.
