I'm retired and able to give a lot of attention to your furry ones, according to their needs. I lived in Spain the last three years and now back to the U.S to work on a book, which i can take anywhere I go, making it easy to be fully available for animal care and home needs, on an hourly and daily basis. Pet care daily has been part of my life for many, many years.

Safety, trust & environment
I adapt to the needs of each housesitting assignment. If they like to play, then we play. If they need walks, we walk. As mentioned above, I can give medications, injections and abide by the guidelines needed for each animal. I am quiet, so the home will be peaceful. I am clean. I abide by the pets needs for meals. I enjoy walks in nature -- walking dogs has been part of my life for decades. I have a lot of empathy for animals, give them a lot of attention, and am able to tune into subtle needs. I sleep with my own dog companions next to me in their own bed, and when younger they would sleep in a crate near me. I'm adaptable to the needs of the dogs I housesit with; and love to cuddle if they are the cuddly type. If not, I allow them to have their space. PS. I'm a retired art therapist, wellness coach and was a home owner for many years; was also an Airbnb super host, enjoying creating nurturing spaces. I'm detailed oriented and know how to take good care of a home.
Information Caitlin R. would like to know about your pet
Yes, of course I will need to know what the pets needs are before committing to the job, and be sure I am the right person for their needs. That means asking the right questions, being clear about boundaries, needs or any issues that might come up, around eating, walking, whether there is fear of cars, people, other dogs, etc.
A typical day
Go for walks. Find their toys and play with them if they like to play. There are puzzles for animals as well. I like to talk to them, and cuddle if they like touch or cuddling. There are many ways to play and have fun if that’s what the pet companion desires .

Exceptional Pet and Home Care
Pet care experience
I am experienced, attentive and nurturing with animals. I have had many canine companions throughout my life, along with two beautiful cats, and have done pet sitting, housesitting and property care in a variety of homes and settings. Four of my dogs were rescues with special needs: separation anxiety, digestive issues, physical limitations, shyness - so I am well versed in paying close attention to an animal's particular needs. I also have experience administering meds, injections, and special meals; and offering patient, attentive senior care. I have a particular fondness for older dogs. I am also trained as an animal communicator, which brings an extra layer of attentiveness to subtle cues. I have cared for small, medium and large dogs, and in earlier years served as a live-in caretaker for others' properties and pets. I have excellent references. My experience extends to equine therapy as well. My objective is to be kind and generous, while being clear about expectations, needs and boundaries - so that I am fully responsible and attentive to the care of your animals and home. I offer trustworthiness, a calm and quiet presence, and a bit of wisdom. Having traveled extensively, including living in Spain for three years, I adapt easily to new environments and different household rhythms. I am currently based in Colorado, working on a book I can take anywhere — which makes me genuinely and fully available for the animals in my care. Please note: I cannot handle dogs that pull hard on a leash — a little pulling is fine, but strong pullers, no. I'm also not a good match for constant barkers. Those are two boundaries I need to hold.

Reviews
Caitlin was amazing, and we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with her. We received regular updates, along with photos. I loved that Caitlin was very interested in making sure that she was comfortable with us, our dogs, and our home, before accepting the job. I will not hesitate to use her again!
