Availability
Pet care fits naturally into my routine as an online student with a flexible part-time schedule. I’m fully available Mondays through Wednesdays and typically work early morning shifts Thursdays through Sundays. On longer workdays, I’m able to stop by midday for potty breaks, feeding, walks, and check-ins, and I plan the majority of my time outside of work around the pets in my care.

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize each pet’s comfort by caring for them in the familiar environment of their own home whenever possible. Being surrounded by their toys, treats, bedding, routines, and family scents helps them feel safe, relaxed, and at ease while adjusting to a new face and temporary change in routine.
Information Caitlin H. would like to know about your pet
Every pet is different, and I never stop learning about how to provide the best care possible. I appreciate owners communicating any important details ahead of time, including medical needs, routines, triggers, medications, or anything out of the ordinary that helps your pet feel safe and comfortable. I have experience administering oral medications and am more than willing to learn injectable medications hands-on with owner guidance if needed. I also like to understand each owner’s preferred approach to correcting unwanted behaviors so I can provide consistent care and reinforcement while respecting your boundaries and training style.
A typical day
Keeping pets mentally and physically enriched is very important to me, and I always tailor activities to each dog’s age, energy level, and physical needs. For active dogs, I love going on long sniff-filled walks, playing fetch or frisbee, hiking, or even swimming with owner approval. For senior or lower-energy pets, I focus more on gentle engagement and comfort. I also incorporate mental stimulation through enrichment activities like frozen treats, puzzle-style games with towels and treats, hide-and-seek, and practicing commands or training based on the owner’s preferences. A happy, engaged, and appropriately tired dog is always my goal!

Pet care experience
I’ve helped raise two labs from puppyhood in my family home and have years of experience pet sitting for neighbors and extended family. My experience includes caring for senior dogs, puppies as young as 8 weeks old, and dogs with special needs. I’m comfortable administering medications, preparing homemade dog food, providing daily enrichment and exercise, and reinforcing ongoing training and routines.

Caitlin also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
