Pet care experience

20+ yrs experience owning/training

I have spent my life around dogs. My experience began at a young age in 4-H. I am now a leader of a local 4-H dog club where I teach kids how to train their dogs. My husband (Joe) and I own a home very near several parks where we often walk our dogs. Our dogs (Rory, Falcon and Julep) are dog friendly. Our house is very dog proofed because we live with a terrier and two basenji who are very nosy. I have raised or worked with many different breeds of dogs so I can quickly adjust the care based on their individual needs/personalities. Both of us will work together to provide the best care possible for any pet staying with us. We will treat your pet like it was our own. We both work a full time jobs. Currently, I work some of the week at home and some in an office. We never leave our dogs longer than 8 hours when we are in the office. At home, the dogs run free while I work (usually they spend the time sleeping). I have two floors in my house so if a dog does not get along with any of my dogs, I can safely separate them. Not everyone gets along and safety is very important to us. I split my time between the floors in the event the dogs don’t get along. When I leave the house I will crate your dog. It is much easier for them if you have that practice already established. This is done for the safety of all dogs in my house. I do require a meet and greet before booking with a new client. Please do not request last minute bookings as I will not be able to meet your dog on advance and I will decline your request.

They take such wonderful care of Jameson! It's so nice to be able to go out of town and know that he is so safe and happy when he is at their home.

Schedule

I work from home three days a week, and I will work a normal 8-5 day. I will keep my calendar up to date if I cannot do doggy day care or boarding. I can take them on short walks multiple times a day. My basement is my office which has couches, dogs beds and comfy chairs they can lounge in while I work. My dogs are with me as well so they also have a nice space to play if they want.

Safety, trust & environment

I have three nice dogs for your dogs to play with. I have some smaller crates (up to 30 x 24”) on hand, so you don’t have to bring yours. It would fit a dog up to the size of a beagle or a mini Aussie. Larger dogs will need to have a crate provided by the owner. We always feed in separate areas for safety and if there are any issues with dogs getting along, I have a finished basement that your dogs can relax in and we split our time between mine and yours so they get lots of love and attention, while being safe.

A typical day

I live on a quiet dead end street that is great for walking. I also live near a park with a great walking track. My dogs also enjoy playing with other dogs, so there is an endless supply of entertainment and activity.
