Pet care experience

Passionate about Pets!

I have been working professionally with dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments for the past six years, and I have lived with and loved my own cats & dogs for much longer. Professional skills/experience: - Force-free, science based animal training (all species, but experience primarily with canines & felines) - Behavior evaluation - Walking and alternative exercise plans for reactive dogs - Grooming (nail trim, bath & blow dry, brush-out, ear cleaning, gland expression) - Kennel facility sanitation • This means your pets will always live in a clean, sanitary, and safe environment while under my care. - Group canine handling - Genuine love and understanding for all animals - Pet first aid & CPR certified My number one priority is ensuring safe and comfortable experiences for all animals by facilitating calmness, following the least intrusive principle, and always keeping in mind your animals' different qualities and quirks. No matter what your pet brings to the table (or backyard door), I can handle it with patience and kindness.

Caitlin is great with my cat Tacy! She is reliable and thorough. I was grateful she would sit outdoors with Tacy on the balcony of my apt. During nice weather that is a real treat.

Caitlin’s messages about her daily walks with my elderly pug Raven make my day! We’re lucky to have found her!

Caitlin has been great with my cat Tacy. She takes good care of her and plays with her. She was able to come recently on short notice which I really appreciated. I feel confident with Cailtin and look forward to her care in the future.

Caitlin was excellent with my cat when I was away on a trip. She provided detailed reports, sent a bunch of photos, and played with him every day. Also was a very kind a professional person to work with. 10/10

Safety, trust & environment

As mentioned, I follow a force-free, least intrusive principle in every interaction with animals. Even if you aren't receiving a dedicated training package and only need standard pet care, I will always be teaching your pet by closely observing their behavior, setting reasonable and achievable expectations, and encouraging them to make desirable choices through environmental arrangement and strategic reinforcement timing/delivery.

Pets

A typical day

I have a 14-pound chihuahua mix named Kenai who loves to play chase, wrestle, and let his voice shine, so if your dog likes to play, then they are in luck! Kenai and I are also happy to facilitate a calm environment for older dogs or those who just enjoy a slower flow to life. We have hoards of puzzles, snuffles, and lick mats/toys that dogs love, but I love getting all pets involved in more complex games that encourage creativity and problem-solving, like "101 things you can do with a box," "find it," and more. Kenai and I typically take two 30-minute walks each day, or one 15-minute and one 30-minute. However, I am always happy to take higher energy dogs out for as long as they need. A properly exercised dog is a happy dog! We take potty breaks every 4-6 hours, aside from overnight, which lasts 8-10 hours. Please don't hesitate to let me know if your pet needs more or less frequent breaks.
