Safety, trust & environment

Safety and Environment: I find it important for pet-sitting to keep animals in their own home environment. They are already stressed out because their most important person is suddenly gone, but adding a whole new and unfamiliar environment can be even more stressful! Thus, I try to keep to your and your pet(s) original schedule as much as I am able to whilst servicing other clients. Understanding your pets' needs and (possible) naughty behaviors (such as destructive behavior, food aggression, etc.) helps me keep them and your household safe while you are away.

Information Caitlan S. would like to know about your pet

For dogs, my usually basic questions are: -Are they afraid of anything or anyone in particular (.e.g afraid of males, will jump towards children, or afraid of loud noises such as thunder)? -Are they very reactive on walks, such as to sounds or squirrels, etc.? -Do they have any destructive tendencies that I need to watch out for? -Do they tend to bolt towards open doors? With cats, it is important for me to know their temperament and what is and is not acceptable (e.g. head scratches are fine, but don’t touch the tail!). It's their house and their rules, and we just live to serve them, right! Knowing what is needed to be re-filled, cleaned, and checked-on during a visit are the essential information I need to gain to ensure a productive check-in visit.

A typical day

I believe it is important to try and keep to your pet's original schedule as much as possible. With dog walking, I will keep to the area they know, especially until we get to know each other (and I learn any of their sneak tricks). However, if allowed, I am also willing to take dogs to any of the local dog parks in Jonesboro for some extra stretch of their legs! This will depend on the cat, especially if they make there presence known or not during check-ins. Each visit is 30 minutes long, so plenty of time to sit down for pets and love!

Pet care experience

I am an animal lover down to my very soul! When I was a kid, I pet-sat rather than baby-sat human children. So I have been taking care of animals my whole life. I have over three years of professional experience dog-walking and (home stay) pet-sitting. I have taken dog and cat CPR and first-aid classes. (I have had to perform the doggie Heimlich twice!) I love getting to know each of my clients' unique personalities and forming a bond with them. I'm not afraid of getting a little dirty with cleanups because with pets, accidents do happen. Or administering medications. I have had the pleasure of playing with puppies to meandering with seniors. Lastly, I'm more than happy to send daily updates of your pet with photos so you have peace of mind that all is well at home. If you notice gaps in my review/availability times (sometimes from months to years), that is due to my either school or work schedule.

Caitlan is amazing. She is very intelligent, very gentle and has só much “doggie” knowledge! My Sloane is afraid of só much but Caitlan’s calm approach is winning her over quickly. Chandler loves everyone, and boy, does he love her. I am so delighted that we found her. She is simply wonderful! I

This is our second time to use Caitlin. This time we were gone for 5 days. She does an excellent job of communicating sending pics and taking care of our dogs. She is clean and goes the extra mile! We will use her again!
