Pet care experience

No stress fur baby care

Growing up I had three different large family dogs as well as an outdoor cat. I currently have my own indoor cat who is very happy and healthy, his name is Beans. I’ve grown up around itty bitty 5lb lap dogs all the way up to large 70lbs+ dogs. I’ve had experience with dogs that are wayy too social and the exact opposite, not able to be around strangers at all. I’ve done extensive personal research into cat and kitten care and have spent lengthy time with dozens of cats in my lifetime. I have a very personal soft spot for all animals big and small. They are such pure, innocent beings that deserve all of our love and protection. But they are also incredibly diverse in behaviors and emotional experience so it critical to be mindful and patient with them always.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

What happens when I meet/care for your pet? Well the specifics vary depending on the service being provided but a general summary would be: Off the bat have a clear and thorough understanding of the boundaries and expectations the client has for their animal. Listen to any warnings, concerns, or tips the client may have about their pet. Meeting the animal under client supervision and listen to any preferences they may have when it comes to meeting their pet (assuming this is the first time I’m meeting your pet). As well as understanding the Clients expectations of me and the care I will be providing for them, ensuring that their own and their pets needs are fully met.

Bryson was great and very dependable. Unfortunately my dog had a slight medical emergency and Bryson was able to handle it and get my dog to the vet for treatment.

We were in town for a football game and needed someone to stay with our golden retriever in our hotel room. Bryson responded quickly and has very good communication. He was great with our dog Desi, nice, polite and punctual! We highly recommend Bryson.

Bryson did a fantastic job with our two pups! Even after our travel plans were disrupted, he was flexible to accommodate and take care of our dogs. Thank you, Bryson, for giving us peace of mind while away from home!

There are many things that I find very important to know about an animal ahead of time. Some of these things include: if the animal has any trauma or specific triggers, any food or environmental allergies, how the animal handles being around other animals and people of any variety, if they have any medical diagnoses that affect how they are cared for in any way (anxiety, diabetes, immune compromised, bowel obstructions/ complications, heat sensitivity ect.), Preferred or effective forms of communication and play, if they are grieving the loss of a human or animal companion (this has a huge affect on behavior), how much attention they like to receive and the ways they most commonly communicate their needs (not wanting any more attention/pets or wanting attention/pets, hungry or thirsty, wants to go outside to go potty vs. wanting to go outside to bark, excitement, anger/stress, ect.) As well as anything and everything the owner/s deems necessary for me to know prior to providing pet care.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
