I've been surrounded by animals my entire life, and I've had the privilege of caring for everything from dogs and cats and even rats. Growing up with such a diverse range of pets has given me a deep understanding of their individual needs and personalities. I currently volunteer at an animal shelter, where I work with dogs and cats of all ages and behavior levels. At the shelter, I walk, play, and spend quiet time with the dogs. I also clean kennels, bowls, blankets, and toys to ensure everything is ready and fresh for the dogs. This experience has taught me how to adjust my approach to each dog, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and understood. As a psychology major, I’ve gained insight into animal behavior, which has been incredibly helpful in my role as a volunteer and care taker. I took an animal training course at my university where I worked hands-on with dogs in the shelter, using conditioning techniques we learned how to train dogs in preparation for adoption. This experience has equipped me with skills to train puppies, reinforce positive behaviors, and assist senior pets with their specific needs. What sets me apart as a sitter is my experience and ability to tailor care to each pet's unique needs. Whether it’s using positive reinforcement techniques to help train a young pup or providing gentle, supportive care to a senior pet, I always ensure that each animal receives the attention and understanding they deserve. I love animals and would be thrilled to share that love with your furry friend!
