Adventures with a Local Pet Lover

I have grown up with pets of all sizes and temperaments my entire life. From dogs to horses to livestock, I am very calm around new animals, even if they may be a bit anxious with new people, pets, and places. I do have my own rescue pup, Río, who loves to get outside for adventures, loves other animals, and loves to be by my side whenever possible. Whether you are in need of pet sitting, exercising, a dog daycation, and/or housesitting with your beloved pet(s), my first choice is always to have Río come along so long as that is something with which you and your pet(s) will be comfortable and enjoy. I grew up on the Central Coast and love to be outdoors and adventuring whether through hikes, long walks, eating out on pet dates at the amazing restaurants nearby, trips to the off leash beaches, or more. If that’s not your pet(s)’ speed and/or favorite things, I am also very into cozying up with them on the sofa or whatever activities may be their favorites as well. If you are in need of care for your horses or livestock, whether while looking for a house sitter or other times, I have a lifetime of experience with horses and am very able to feed, muck, hotwalk, etc. while house sitting or on a drop-in basis. I have not been riding much since returning back to the Central Coast from SF but pending the temperament and experience level necessary, after learning to ride horses much around the same time I was learning to walk, I am always open for an easy ride if needed for your horse(s) as well. Just message me and we can discuss further! Please note, if you foresee last-minute requests for daycare, check-ins, and/or dog walking being necessary in the future, please reach out to schedule a formal meet and greet anytime in advance so we may know that the pups are a good match prior to any late bookings becoming necessary. For my safety and the safety of my dogs and yours, I will not accept last-minute check-ins or dog walking requests without this meet and greet completed.

Brittany is an exceptional pet sitter! Milo had an amazing time and was pampered exceptionally well. We received regular updates, photos, and communications, which we greatly appreciated, especially from my kids.

Brittany is amazing! She went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and needs to watch our pup the night of our wedding. Brittany is a true dog lover with immense compassion and can tell where your dog's comfort zone is, and if/when they're comfortable being eased out of it into something new. I'd recommend Brittany to anyone in a heartbeat--your fur-baby is in excellent hands!

We absolutely loved the care that Mac got while Brittanny watched over him! He was super happy and treated so well! She even got him a pup cup to celebrate our wedding day. We definitely will be using Brittany again!!

My dog, Pete had a wonderful time with Brittany and Río! Brittany took him for super fun, active adventures every day and sent lots of picture updates. I booked with Brittany while in town for a trip and wish she lived closer so that Pete could stay with her more often. Highly recommend!!

Brittany is an outstanding dig sitter for anyone. Along with being very responsible and professional, she has a great personality and is considerate of the needs of pet owners. Her dog Rio got along very well with my dog Kenzo and kept him entertained all day. 5 stars for sure; I hope to be rebooking with Brittany soon!

Brittany and Rió were great! I needed a dog sitter for my older beagle last minute to go in a spontaneous trip out of town. Brittany replied back to me right away with enthusiasm and was happy to take Geronimo for a couple of days. Her dog Rió is great, and her home welcomed Geronimo in like he belonged there. I highly recommend!!

Schedule

Río and I always make sure to take time to get outside to exercise, take potty breaks on grass, and explore daily with an hour-2.5+ hours hike in the mornings and an hour long walk/run after work.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Río and I are ideally a package deal so any dog(s), cat(s), and/or whatever pet(s) you are in need of caring for and giving some love to, please advise if they are dog-friendly and enjoy a workout but also love a good lounge throughout the day. For potty breaks and a bit of engagement during the work day, I have a privately fenced yard to pop outside for some sunshine and ball play any time throughout the day and night.

Pets

A typical day

For overnight or extended stay guest(s), Río and I regularly take car rides to then venture out to our nearby parks, outdoor dining, and hiking trails both before and after work. I do not crate Río but have the space if your dog(s) will need their own crate(s) for the day or overnight. If I am to house sit for y’all, I would love to be able to bring Río along as he is my sole responsibility but do understand if any concerns and would love to discuss this further whether for housesitting, walking, or any other needs outside of boarding at my residence. If you are inquiring for daycare or boarding at my residence, your pet(s) will need to be dog-friendly as Río will be present and my parents’ 15lb cavapoo comes to play quite often as well.

Río is off-leash for our hikes when out in the country and away from busy roads. Is your dog good with recall and off leash in a similar situation? For any dogs being boarding or spending an extended period of time with us here in the Santa Ynez Valley, please check in with your vet prior to confirm any additional vaccines they may recommend. Río was given two additional vax when we moved here from the city for the new concerns of country life such as ticks/lime disease and waterborne illnesses from creek water.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
