Pet care is something I’ve been making real space for as I step away from the corporate world. After years of structured schedules and constant time pressure, I’m choosing a slower and more intentional rhythm where I can actually be present with what I’m doing. I plan my week so I’m not rushing between things or trying to fit animals into leftover time. When I’m with pets, they have my full attention. That matters to me. This also fits the kind of life I’m trying to build. More time outside, more movement, and work that feels grounded and real instead of being behind a screen all day.

Safety, trust & environment

I stick closely to whatever routine the owner already has in place because that’s what keeps pets most comfortable. When their people are gone, consistency is everything. In someone’s home, I’m respectful of the space and keep things calm and clean. I pay attention to the basics like doors, feeding, water, leash safety, and medications if they’re needed. I also send updates and photos so you’re not left wondering how things are going. If something feels off with a pet, I notice it and communicate it right away.

Information Brittany G. would like to know about your pet

I really appreciate knowing anything that helps me understand your pet better before I meet them. Things like reactivity, triggers, food allergies, medical needs, and their normal daily routine are especially helpful. It’s also good to know how they are with new people, other animals, leash behavior, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and safe while you’re away. Some pets settle in quickly and others need more patience and space, and I like to respect that either way. The more I know ahead of time, the easier it is for me to keep things calm, consistent, and stress free for them.

A typical day

It really depends on the animal. Some dogs want to get out and move, so we’ll walk, play fetch, or tug-of-war. Others are more relaxed and just want calm company and steady attention. I don’t try to force a routine that doesn’t fit the pet. I pay attention to their energy and meet them where they are on that day. The goal is always the same though. I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while their owner is away.

Pet care experience

I’ve been around animals my entire life, starting with dogs and cats growing up and continuing into full-time, hands-on care as an adult. In my adult years, I’ve personally owned and cared for multiple dogs, including an English bulldog I adopted at ten months old and supported through her senior years. That included managing daily routines and giving two different heart medications consistently over about two years, which really shaped how I approach patience, structure, and attention to detail. I currently have two labs, along with a senior cat, fish, and a python, so I’m used to different energy levels and care needs in the same home. I also regularly help friends with their dogs and cats when they travel, including both short visits and longer stays. Overall, I’m comfortable with large breeds, senior care, medication routines, and adjusting to each animal’s personality instead of expecting them to fit a single routine.

She's one of my closest friends. She's cared for our perritos countless times and treats every dog she meets like her own, showering them with love, patience, and kindness. As a former supervisor, she's incredibly responsible and dependable. When I've been sick, she's swooped in to pick up our pups for sleepovers with her own dogs without hesitation. My dog Kylo gets so excited when he sees her that he has to grab his emotional support toys just to contain his happiness! My husband and I have trusted her to watch our dogs during week-long trips, and we never worry for a second. Brittany is the friend who always shows up, for people and for pups. Any dog in her care is a lucky one.

Brittany was awesome. We have very old guys (13 & 16 and one is blind and deaf) and she gave them the extra tenderness and love they need. She was very calm, easygoing and engaging. I would absolutely hire her again.
