Availability
I work from home mostly via meetings, I am available at any time for sitting including multi-overnight (or multi-week) stays in your home. I love to housesit and it's no problem at all in my schedule, I can work with my phone or laptop with no issues if I may use your internet. If rebooking, I do not mind you using my personal number if given. I do also have a full time hobby career in animal/exotics/wildlife medicine, so your babies are in good hands!

I have added a photo of my husband for reference. He used to run a greyhound rescue before we moved to Dallas, so he has many years of specialized experience and training as well if he's around the animals for any reason (dropping off some groceries for me, etc). I prefer to have as many rebooks at possible (or be your permanent sitter) since it is much easier on the animals mental health to always have someone they know/trust/are comfortable with when their parents are away instead of a new stranger every time. I find it greatly reduces their anxiety or stress and they tend to eat better while you're away! Hunger strikes aren't that unusual. I do try to send photos every day of the service. Feel free to reach out at any time before or during stays. I'm happy to help! Please don't feel obligated to reply to my daily updates though, I know it can get busy while you're away!
Information Brittany G. would like to know about your pet
Any food schedules/routines, medication or supplements, allergies, special needs, night lights, crate training, or general energy levels is a great heads up for me to provide the best care and experience for your loved ones. As well as other basics such as if you usually give them tap or filtered water, and if you put up the water bowl at a certain time of evening so they won't have to be let out during the night. Please also make sure that your pets claws and dewclaws are trimmed prior to the stay if possible. I also do not tolerate dogs which jump or become overly excited/erratic for food/leashing/etc. I have had far too many bloody noses, busted lips or cheeks, bitten or bloody tongues from hard hits under my chin, etc from dogs who cannot be controlled during simple tasks of me setting a food bowl down, putting a leash on, or simply sitting down and getting injured from hits in the face (it has been caused from Great Pyrenees all the way down do Dachshund size). Excitement for events and happiness from animals is more than natural and welcome, however, reinforced ~elevated~ behavior which can easily cause injury to someone is not. As of late 2021 I am no longer offering exercise walks during sits. I have unfortunately experienced an extremely high rate of outside safety situations that I prefer to keep walks to an absolute minimum (in and out for potty time if there is not access to a back yard). Regrettably there are many people who walk and exercise their dogs off leash in Dallas neighborhoods or local parks, which leads to potential altercations. Either dog(s) may have social or territorial aggression, fear or nervousness, generally be dog reactive, etc. For the safety of everyone I no longer offer exercise walks and I do hope that is understandable, however I am always willing to discuss it. Thanks so very much for reading and considering me to care for your loved ones, I look forward to hearing from you!
A typical day
Lots of physical bonding activities like brushing and playing with toys. Or cuddles for older dogs/cats who aren't as active anymore. Something for each individual!

Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Brittany, or my nickname is Lily, either is fine. I have worked with animals for most of my life and I am a licensed/permitted wildlife transport and rehaber through Texas Parks and Wildlife as well as have a degree in herpetology and entomology. I also float around as medical clinic and nutrition staff in my free time to many animal sanctuaries, rescues, and exotic vets (In-Sync Exotics, North Texas Wildlife Center, and Rogers Wildlife avian are my most frequent currently). I have a pet emergency medical kit in my vehicle at all times, collar clip LED lights for dark/nighttime walk safety, and Rover certified prebiotic paw and nose balm used after every outside visit in warm weather. I am a volunteer with PETA and USARK and organize animal rights activism events all over DFW and Texas, as well as a member of Texas Animal Freedom Fighters. For ease of finding me if we have a meet and greet, I drive a silver Camaro.

Appreciate that the house looked so great when I returned home (early) and Brittany took my garbage out to the curb an brought it back - along with bringing packages into the house! She went above and beyond and my 2 labs love her!

Brittany did an amazing job taking care of Ferguson in our home. She was very communicative and went above and beyond making sure Ferguson was happy while we were away. Can’t recommend enough!

I'm rating 3 stars overall for Brittany's housesitting service (4 nights). Brittany was communicative; I received detailed updates and photos (both unprompted and when requested) showing that my dog’s needs were cared for. Brittany was also accommodating; she was able to add a drop-in visit for less than she usually charges when my flight had to be moved up. Brittany also followed the medication instructions well. However, the first few days of care were sub-par. Based on the security system I have I could see that walks were shorter (8-10 mins) than the expectations I had originally outlined (20 mins). Rather than spending time throughout the day at my place, Brittany was essentially doing 2 drop-ins for the first few days and leaving my dog alone for ~8 hrs during the day. After the first few days I reiterated my expectations over text (e.g., his walks should be longer, and I booked housesitting rather than drop-ins so he would have some company during the day); Brittany was receptive and improved the service from then on. I am a bit frustrated that I had to clarify these expectations in the first place because they had already been clearly outlined beforehand, and I'm not sure that anything would have changed if I hadn't noticed and said something. Brittany stated the holiday (Thanksgiving) as a reason why she wasn't there for as long, but I was paying a higher holiday rate ($84/night rather than the normal $70) so that my dog would receive sufficient care and attention. Overall the housesitting service that Brittany provided wasn’t up to the standards of my communicated expectations or worth the higher cost compared to other pet care options. I need to be able to fully trust my pet sitter while I’m gone so I won’t be booking again.

Late request (less than 24 hours) for a stop in to take care of my 2 big dogs and Brittany came through with flying colors!!!
