I have loved animals since I could walk. My friends call me the animal whisperer because I have never come across a dog or cat that I could not win over. I love dogs and cats of all sizes and am not easily intimidated by them, despite my tiny stature of 5 ft. I have a very caring nature and a passion for helping. Any time I go anywhere that has a pet, I naturally gravitate and spend most of my time with them. I am extremely careful and details oriented, and when I am with your pet, they will be the center of my attention. I will treat them with the care I give my own dog. I am the proud owner of a 7-year-old Pekingese, my little man Gizmo, who is my world. There is nothing I wouldn't do for him. I have also always owned dogs and cats throughout my entire childhood and adult life and have considered them all to be like my children. All of my close personal friends have dogs and cats as well, and I frequently help take care of them when they are out of town and treat them as if they were my own. I am experienced with giving oral medication to both dogs and cats as well. I am constantly looking for ways to help animals when I see them and often feed stray cats and even opossums that are in my neighborhood. I am known to pick up stray dogs when I see them on the road and hold onto them until I can find them a safe home to go to or a rescue that will take them in.

Caring for your pet is my top priority. When I am with your pet, they will be the center of my attention, and I will make sure they are comfortable and cared for at the level I would expect for my own dog. I will pay close attention to any details you have provided to make sure that all needs are met and will make sure I am attuned to your pet's emotional wellbeing.

Brittany watched my two very similar looking high-needs cats for about a week. I left her a guide for how to tell them apart, and she did great. One required a daily hyperthyroidism pill and tends to scare easily, but Brittany did an excellent job and made sure he got his medication. They also urinate outside thr box, and even though I didn't ask her to deal with that, she consistently cleaned up that mess, scooped litterboxes, fed them wet food, and switched out the water. I don't trust many people with my babies, but I'd hire Brittany again and recommend her to anyone!
Brittany has been taking care of animals her whole life and is one of the few people I will let watch my precious babies! She is familiar with taking care of cats and dogs, even the most spoiled of pets. If you need someone who is going to connect to your fur baby instantly, definitely give her a try!
People always say that dogs are the best judge of character, and I fully believe that’s true. Every dog I’ve ever owned has absolutely adored Brittany from the moment they met her. You can tell right away how passionate she is about animals—she takes her time getting to know them, carefully reading their emotions and respecting their boundaries. When it comes to caring for animals, Brittany is simply the best. She pays close attention to every instruction and detail to make sure the pets in her care feel safe, comfortable, and happy. My last dog was quite cranky in her old age and didn’t always trust people, but every time Brittany visited, she was thrilled to see her and clearly felt at ease. My current dog, a Great Dane, absolutely loves Brittany—you can hear her tail wags from a mile away when Brittany arrives (and with that tail, trust me, it’s no small sound!). It’s such a relief to know I have someone I can trust 100% to care for my pets. That someone is Brittany.
Brittany has cared for my two (sometimes three) cats multiple times. My cats have special feeding instructions and one of them also needs to take a pill every other day. Brittany pays special attention to those instructions and is always able to get my cat to take his pill - which, if you know cats, is not an easy task for anyone. When we get back home our cats are always healthy and happy and their litter box has been tended to as well. We also know Brittany's personal pet(s) - she has owned a couple of dogs and a cat. Her dog is one of the happiest little guys I know and she dotes on him. She will dote on your pet as well if you hire her!

Schedule
I have been an Intermediate Language Arts teacher for 14 years, so my availability is set around the school day. I am available to walk dogs or do in-home check-ins after 3:30 on weekdays, and available any time during the weekends and the summer (June and July).
