Safety, trust & environment

I have a large, fenced yard and a playful dog of my own. She is a young great dane, however, so when it comes to pet-sitting in my home, your dog must be comfortable playing with a large (105lbs), energetic, young female. I am happy to come to your home as well. I am respectful of your environment, I keep things clean and tidy, and I'll even water your plants.

Information Brittany B. would like to know about your pet

Before our first visit, I would love to learn all about your dog’s routine, personality, and preferences. Please let me know about feeding schedules, leash habits, commands they know, triggers or fears, medical needs, energy level, and what they enjoy most during walks or playtime. The more I know about what makes your dog feel safe and happy, the better I can keep their experience consistent and stress-free while you’re away.

A typical day

When your dog is with me, they are not just being watched. They are engaged, exercised, and cared for in ways that match their personality and energy level. *Walk Adventures* Structured, enriching walks where your dog can sniff, explore, and move their body. I balance freedom and focus, encouraging good leash manners while still letting them enjoy the world around them. *Play Sessions* For playful pups, we will play games like fetch, tug, and interactive toy play. I keep sessions fun but controlled so excitement stays positive and safe. *Mental Stimulation* Dogs get tired from thinking too. I use basic commands like sit, wait, and heel, along with treat-finding games and focus exercises to give their brain a workout. This is especially helpful for energetic or easily bored dogs. *Sniff and Explore Time* Sniffing is natural enrichment. I allow time for dogs to investigate scents on walks, which helps reduce stress and makes them feel fulfilled. *Calm Cuddle and Wind-Down Time* After activity, we shift into calm mode with gentle affection, quiet time, and helping your dog relax so they do not stay overstimulated. *Routine and Structure* Dogs feel safest when they know what to expect. I keep a balanced rhythm of activity, rest, and clear boundaries so your dog feels secure and comfortable. Whether your dog is high-energy, shy, senior, or somewhere in between, I adjust everything to what makes them happiest and most confident.

Pet care experience

I’ve worked professionally with dogs in dog daycares in Detroit, Chicago, and New York, and I’ve also spent years as a dedicated dog walker and pet sitter in NYC. I’m comfortable managing multiple dogs at once and have safely walked up to four dogs together. I have hands-on experience with leash manners and structured walking, including working alongside trainers who train police dogs. I understand proper leash etiquette, the “heel” command, and how to maintain calm, controlled walks — even with strong or energetic dogs. I’m naturally confident around dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’ve handled high-energy pups, nervous dogs, senior dogs, and even helped in situations involving illness or end-of-life care. I stay calm, observant, and focused on your dog’s safety and comfort at all times. I have two dogs of my own and truly treat every dog like family. My goal is always safety, a happy dog, and peace of mind for you.

Brit was an absolute gem of a dog sitter while caring for our sweet Maybelle. From the moment she stepped in, it was clear that she approaches her work with remarkable thoughtfulness and heart. She didn’t just “watch” Maybelle — she truly cared for her, paying close attention to her routines, her little quirks, and all the small details that make her who she is. Brit kept us updated and gave us such peace of mind, which is priceless when you’re away from your beloved pet. It felt like Maybelle wasn’t simply being looked after — she was being genuinely cherished. And as if that weren’t enough, we returned home to a house that was beautifully tidied and welcoming. There’s something so comforting about walking back into a calm, cared-for space after time away, and Brit made that happen effortlessly. We’re beyond happy with her care and can’t recommend her enough. She treats both pets and homes with the same warmth and respect as if they were her very own — and that makes all the difference.

I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in her care. She clearly understands dog behavior and handled my high-energy pup with confidence and calm. Walks were structured but fun, and my dog came home happy and relaxed instead of overstimulated. I also loved the detailed updates. You can tell this is someone who truly knows and loves dogs.
