Pet care experience

The more paws the better!

Hello there! My name is Britta. I’m 36 and work full-time. I have three cats who are my everything. While I don’t have a large enough house for a dog, I love caring for them and regularly take my neighbor’s Australian Shepherd puppy for walks. I've been dog sitting since I was fifteen years old, and am a trustworthy and engaging babysitter for your pet. I’m comfortable with all dog breeds and leash walking.

House Sitting • Nov 19, 2020

I was not happy with the condition of my home upon my return. My kitchen was filthy, handprints, all over the fridge, dishwasher, and oven, dirty dishes on the counter and stove, the countertops had food and I don’t know what else. I had a picture hanging half off of the wall. My dog’s room and laundry room smelled of urine and feces. It also had dried urine and feces on the floor. One of my dogs had dried feces on her. Upon checking the activity on my alarm system there were nights that my dogs weren’t let out for over 12 hours. She will not be rehired. After driving home for 9 hours my cousin and I cleaned my house for 2 hours. She will not be rehired and frankly I would like my money back from Rover. This was my first experience with Rover and I’m extremely disappointed..

Britta was awesome, took great care of Bella, stayed with her took regular pictures and communicated everything with more than just one picture a day. Would definitely use her again if we take a trip or need someone to look after her.

Britta was fantastic! I only gave her not even a day notice to come and watch my dog and she did a great job! I will 100 percent use her again. She sent lots of pictures and was very quick to always respond. Definitely recommend!

Britta has been our "go to" Rover girl for a few years but she has moved out of town now and we all really miss her!! She is such a dependable and responsible pet sitter, with a true love for animals. Our pets (dogs and cats) always look forward to seeing her and even look for her when she's gone. She has covered a vet issue with our dog with great competence and maturity. She always leaves the house just as she found it and we always come home to very happy pets. Britta is simply wonderful! We highly recommend her!

Overall, we had a positive experience with Britta! She was really communicative throughout the trip and kept me up to date with lots of texts and pictures.

Schedule

I work 8-5 and am off on Sunday and Mondays. Can do drop-in visits or stay overnight depending on your needs. I adhere as much to the pets preexisting schedules as possible.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 cats
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

As much snuggling as possible! If I am caring for dogs, I enjoy playing with them outside, throwing a ball/sticks, etc. I talk to them and tell them stories and try to provide gentle reinforcement of the rules their owners have established.

Pets

A typical day

Typically when I pet sit, I spend the majority of my time with the animals when not working. I want them to feel cared for and secure with me there. Depending on the distance of your house from my work, I can also potentially do a midday visit to let a dog out. Evening or morning walks.

I like to learn a dog or cat’s schedule ahead of to make sure their days stay as normal as possible when their owners go out of town. It’s also important to know of any potential fears or triggers or things to avoid doing to cause them distress.
