Safety, trust & environment

when i’m in a clients home, i’m respectful of the trust put in me by the human and of the animal’s space. slow, gentle movements, getting down on the dog’s level, lots of scratches and pats etc. and being clean and tidy of course.

Information Bridget H. would like to know about your pet

any special quarks or needs (medical, feeding, etc.) and hiding spots. also good to know preferences for eating, play time, physical touch etc. and anything else important

A typical day

it depends on the dogs of course, but i love to run around a yard, toss a ball, sit together in the sun, walks, runs, fetch, etc.

Pet care experience

Since I was 12, I've been the go-to sitter when family and friends go out of town. I've walked dogs for WAG! since 2018 in the Washington, DC area and friends and friends of friends on Capitol Hill have me stay in their homes and watch their pups several times a year. My siblings say I'm too nice to dogs and let them walk (all over) me, but I like to think they must smell something they need to find. I once carried a dog several blocks because it was 90+ degrees out and he was over it. Sometimes they want to run, sometimes they want to tan- and I'm here for it all. Also, I have a full bed if they need a sleep buddy. PS I have two boys, a 3 YO husky + 1.5 YO ginormous mutt : )

I hired Bridget to house sit and watch my dog while I was out of town over the weekend. She showed up over an hour late to do a meet and greet with my dog. After I left town, she fed my dog once and returned to my home later around 2am (4am in the time zone that I had traveled to) to stay the night, and told me that my dog was missing. When I woke up, I called and texted her and eventually received a call back where she explained to me that the "whole thing felt janky" and she didn't feel comfortable watching my dog anymore. I had to call multiple family members throughout the weekend to look for my dog, and feed and care for her. When I asked her to return my garage door receiver, I asked if she could return it in a flexible window of time, but she was too busy and dropped it off over 24 hours later.

Bridget is a loving and trustworthy dog sitter! She has stayed in my house and watched my dog multiple times. He is older and has a few health problems and Bridget never misses a medication and always gives him the extra attention he needs. She also provides regular updates and photos. My house is always super clean when I get home! Most importantly she is truly kind and loving to my dog and treats him so so well!
