I offer a home from home chilled out environment

Not too keen on kennels? I offer a home from home environment in Callan, Co.Kilkenny, for your beloved dog to relax in the comfort of my home.

I live in a detached house 15 minutes outside Kilkenny City with Oscar who’s a 16yr old Coton de Tulear. A few years ago we looked after a neighbours dog, my dogs enjoyed the company so we decided to make it a regular occurrence so here we are!! I work from home (Mon-Fri) so my mornings and evenings are free, I've decided to only offer dog boarding as that's what suits us best. It's nice to offer a home away from home to dog owners who’d like their loved one in a homely environment.

Our 2 French bulldogs had the best holiday with Bridget. Bridget was fantastic to keep us updated with their antics and lots of photos. This was our second experience and we will definitely be asking Bridget to spoil out two dogs again in the near future.

We left our dog with Bridget for a week while on holidays. Ralph was well looked after and brought for walks everyday. A home away from home for him. We would highly recommend Bridget to mind your dog. We look forward to booking Ralph in again soon. This is a great service for people looking for their dog to be minded while away.

Bridget was kind and easy to talk to , She looked after Our Dog Callie as it was Callie's First time away from us, we and the Dog were nervous . However she made it easy for all . Callie enjoyed her stay and we felt Happy that Bridget made her welcome and was fine when we arrived back the next day to get her. Would Highly Recommand :)

Schedule

I work from home (Mon-Fri) so my mornings and evenings are free so I've decided to only offer dog boarding. I get up about 7/8am, dogs are fed and then go for a 1hr+ walk around the Castle park. Upon returning home, they get a treat and settle into the office or a cosy spot around the house for the afternoon. The garden doors are open to come and go as they please. Quick evening walk around 6/7pm and generally lights out by 10/11pm.
Guests have full access downstairs and to the living room in the evening to relax beside the fire for a more comforting environment. I find dogs settle in quickly when they initially arrive, Oscar is extremely laid back. It makes for a calm and peaceful experience especially if this is their first time away from home.

Pets

A typical day

Kilkenny Castle Park is the main park for our daily walk, I also go to Castlecomer Discovery Park & Woodstock Park in Inistioge. There’s numerous toys and activities in the garden to keep guests entertained.

0 to 7 kg
7 to 18 kg
No females in heat
Bridget can host up to 5 pets per night
I understandably won’t accept any reactive or traumatized dogs into my care, I have a duty of care to ensure the safety of Oscar and all other guests.
