Pet care experience

I started dog boarding in 2015 as a stay-at-home internet entrepreneur and freelance writer. However, nowadays, I'm more focused on dogs and making sure they have their best vacation while you are on your vacation.

My dogs Ollie and Jack liked Brian right away. He sent me updates throughout the 11 day period I was away and it just felt easy. I knew my babies were in good hands.

Charlie wasn’t feeling well during his 3 night stay with Brian:( Brian showed his concern for Charlie and kept me updated. Charlie is fine now! I will use Brian in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

We've hosted more than 500 different dogs. They've enjoyed our fully-fenced-in half-acre yard and air-conditioning to beat the heat. Our clients include have included famous CEOs of fashion companies and NFL players. We recently (April, 2024) adopted a Australian Shepherd/Cattledog puppy. At four months, she's still teething and learning, so I recommend that you don't bring nice beds for a little bit. Instead it might be best to bring a blanket. Many dogs sleep on our sectional couch and other couches throughout of the house.

Information Brian M. would like to know about your pet

During a Meet and Greet people always ask me, "What do I need to know?" There aren't a lot of things, but hosting 500 different dogs gives us a lot of experience in what makes everything go as smoothly as possible. Please copy and paste the image below into a browser. I may also include it in our booking conversation. https://www.rover.com/cf-image-cdn/remote/images/people/bN8YPaqg/ywmfnhgayf/original.png It would be helpful to know the energy level of your dog in advance. Sometimes I can get this from the age of the dog, but it can vary. Also, let me know about medications. Finally, please explicitly tell me if your dog is not spayed or neutered. It is not enough to just put it in the profile since Rover hides the profile information and over 95% of the pets we have are spayed and neutered. Our home atmosphere encourages the dogs to roam freely, so separating dogs as they might at kennels does not work. The chances of having both intact genders of dogs here are low, but it is better to be safe. (Note: We have not run into any pregnancy situations. I just want everyone to be on the same page ahead of time.)

A typical day

We usually have a couple of dogs at the house so your dog will typically be playing with other dogs in a dog park like atmosphere. I have Chuck-it balls for dogs that like to play fetch. For short stays, dogs are often excited by the new environment and play in the fenced backyard. It's great exercise and we find they don't need additional walks. For longer stays, we go for walks around our quiet community of cul-de-sacs.

I have the flexibility to work when I want to, so I can be there for your dog when he/she needs me. My military wife also works from home full-time, giving your pup some extra attention. (She doesn't manage pick-ups/drop-offs or owner communication except in extreme circumstances - Rover doesn't allow multiple sitters to login and manage that.) We are always closed for drop-offs/pick-ups on Wednesdays from 7:20-9:15AM. On the other business days, closed from 7:30-8:00AM, so I bring the kids to kids to school. I have more flexibility in the afternoons as I can pick up the kids within a two hour window. The timing of that can vary though because of sports and other after school stuff. When the school season changes (going into summer vacation or fall), we can't guarantee specific timing since we don't have the schedules from the other activities/camps/etc. I apologize if it's difficult to follow, but like all Rover boarders we are a family and have family obligations and commitments at certain times of the week. Rover doesn't give us the functionality to block out specific times of specific days. During the week, my wife is working (from home) and the kids are at school, so we try to do our family activities on the weekend. For this reason, booking for the day on a Saturday so you can go to a beach or mansion visit may not be the best fit. We usually don't have clarity into bookings more than 4-6 weeks in advance.
