Give your Dog a Vacation!
Pet care experience
Hey Everyone! My name is Brian and after years of successful and reliable Rover sitting in Rhode Island, I have relocated to Harrisburg for a high school teaching position outside of the city. My house is 2-3 blocks from Riverfront Park and not too far from the Midtown (Harrisburg) dog park. My dog is 11 years old and is very socialized from various dog parks and my previous years of sitting for Rover in RI. My house also has two doors before any exit from the house, so dogs cannot easily escape (for the escape artists, which mine was in his younger years). ** I have experience sitting for giant breeds (I have sat for multiple Great Pyrenees dogs and a 165 lb St. Bernard in the past). ** Pending the owner's approval and preference, I will take plenty of photos throughout your dog's stay with me to send to your phone - so you know s/he is loving the vacation just as much as you are loving your trip. Lastly, I am CPR certified and have been instructed how to perform emergency CPR on dogs as well. Do I sound like a good fit for your pooch? I would love to talk further and schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure this is the right fit for him/her :-) P.S. I also have volunteer experience at the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary (Foster Parrots) and have had Bearded Dragons of my own for 15 years now (as of 2021). If you too have any pets besides your dog that needs to be taken care of, we can make it work.
Reviews
Brian noticed when our dog wasn’t acting himself and took great care of him while keeping us updated on how he was feeling. We felt reassured and knew Jack was in good hands!
Brian was very accommodating and took good care of our dogs. We would definitely use him again if we are in the area.
Brian is so great with our dog! Definitely first choice for boarding in Harrisburg!
Brian was great. Our dog has gone through a lot lately and has been very needy. Brian understood and Yeti seemed to have enjoyed his stay. Brian was very prompt answering messages and sending pics. Thanks again for your help!

Information Brian M. would like to know about your pet
Some basic questions that I would like to know about your dog prior to arrival: 1. Any aggression issues: Food aggression, dog-dog aggression, dog-human aggression, toy aggression/possessiveness? 2. What are his usual sleeping arrangements? I have a bed, futon, couches, floor space, and a crate - whatever he/she is used to would work well. 3. Any house-breaking issues? 4. UTD on all vaccinations, flea/tick, and heart worm preventative? Bordatella/Kennel Cough? 5. Is your dog ok with large dogs? Small dogs? 6. Does anything bother or stress your dog? 7. How much exercise is your dog used to?
A typical day
Walks: I have a small fenced in backyard for dogs to use when they want. I also take my dog (and yours too) on walks along the river and around City Island. I also can take your dog to the Midtown Dog Park if he/she needs to get out some extra energy. I do occasional hikes/walks at Wildwood park and various hiking trails around the area. Needless to say, I can assure you that your dog will be exercised properly and very happy in my care :-) Sleep Arrangements: let me know what your dog is used to. I have a couch, a crate, lots of floor space, a dog bed, and a queen-sized memory-foam mattress that your dog can sleep on. What s/he is used to sleeping on will work just fine. Quality Time: Being a teacher, I have "off" until around 8/20. During the school year, I have a roommate who works near and can let dogs out during lunch. I will let them out in the morning before work, and will be back again by 3 pm.
