I regularly took my dog (and can/will take yours) on long walks along the river, to Lowes/home Depot, and area dog parks regularly. I also have a small yard for dogs to relax in and get some fresh air.

Information Brian M. would like to know about your pet
Some basic questions that I would like to know about your dog prior to arrival: 1. Any aggression issues: Food aggression, dog-dog aggression, dog-human aggression, toy aggression/possessiveness? 2. What are his usual sleeping arrangements? I have a bed, futon, couches, floor space, and a crate - whatever he/she is used to would work well. 3. Any house-breaking issues? 4. UTD on all vaccinations, flea/tick, and heart worm preventative? Bordatella/Kennel Cough? 5. Is your dog ok with large dogs? Small dogs? 6. Does anything bother or stress your dog? 7. How much exercise is your dog used to?
A typical day
Walks: I have a small fenced in backyard for dogs to use when they want. I also topl my dog (and can/will take yours, too) on walks along the river and around City Island. I also can take your dog to the Midtown Dog Park if he/she needs to get out some extra energy. I do occasional hikes/walks at Wildwood park and various hiking trails around the area. Needless to say, I can assure you that your dog will be exercised properly and very happy in my care :-) Sleep Arrangements: let me know what your dog is used to. I have a couch, a crate, lots of floor space, a dog bed, and a queen-sized memory-foam mattress that your dog can sleep on. What s/he is used to sleeping on will work just fine. Quality Time: Being a teacher, I have "off" until around 8/20. During the school year, I now work from home and will be at the house (albeit, working) in case if there are any emergencies during the day. My work schedule ends at 3 pm M-F.

Give your Dog a Vacation!
Pet care experience
Update: My dog, Ozzie, passed away in his sleep at the age of 16 on 8/4/26. I started sitting because of him and his love for other dogs, so I am not yet ready to remove him from my profile. However, I do not currently have a dog of my own... but will love on yours like it is my own. Hey Everyone! My name is Brian and after years of successful and reliable Rover sitting in Rhode Island, I relocated to Harrisburg and now teach at the high school. My house is 2-3 blocks from Riverfront Park in Harrisburg. My house also has two doors before any exit from the house, so dogs cannot easily escape (for the escape artists, which mine was in his younger years). ** I have experience sitting for giant breeds (I have sat for multiple Great Pyrenees dogs and a 165 lb St. Bernard in the past). ** Pending the owner's approval and preference, I will take plenty of photos throughout your dog's stay with me to send to your phone - so you know s/he is loving the vacation just as much as you are loving your trip. Lastly, I am CPR certified and have been instructed how to perform emergency CPR on dogs as well. Do I sound like a good fit for your pooch? I would love to talk further and schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure this is the right fit for him/her :-) P.S. I also have volunteer experience at the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary (Foster Parrots) and have had Bearded Dragons of my own for 20 years now (as of 2026). If you too have any pets besides your dog that needs to be taken care of, we can make it work.
Reviews

Archie loves staying at Brian’s place. He has had several stays with Brian and I am always sent photos of my boy. I plan to rebook when he is available and when Archie needs a sitter !

Brian was very good with my Archie. I didnt have to worry at all while i was away !

Brian did such a great job with our girls. Will definitely see if he is available next time we travel and the dogs can’t join us.
Brian was very friendly and took great care of Tribe while we were out of town. We got photo updates and status on how he was doing each day, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience
