⭐ DR Ranch Dog Camp ⭐
Welcome to ⭐ DR Ranch Dog Camp ⭐—where every stay feels like summer camp for your dog! For more than 35 years, our family has been caring for dogs. Since opening our facility in 1989, we’ve welcomed countless furry family members through our gates. While boarding is what brings many people to us, what sets us apart is that we’re professional dog trainers. We understand canine behavior, know how to safely manage playgroups, and create a fun, structured environment where dogs can exercise, socialize, and build confidence. Our goal is simple: we want your dog to have just as much fun on their vacation as you do on yours. Every day includes supervised play, plenty of outdoor time, socialization with compatible dogs, enrichment, and lots of personal attention. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter pace, we work to make sure every guest has a safe and enjoyable stay. Life on the ranch is always full of activity! Along with our canine guests, you’ll find kids, pigs, chickens, cats, and plenty of wide-open space. It’s a fun environment that keeps dogs engaged while giving them the opportunity to explore, play, and simply enjoy being dogs. Safety is our highest priority. Dogs are housed in clean, secure kennels with comfortable dog houses, fresh water, and regular feeding schedules. Throughout the day, they’re brought out for supervised exercise and carefully managed group play before settling in for a well-earned rest. Someone is on the property 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so your dog is never without care. To help keep every dog healthy, we do require all guests to be current on their vaccinations. We’d love the opportunity to welcome your dog to DR Ranch Dog Camp and show you why so many families trust us with their four-legged family members.

Ratings and reviews
We’ve used Rover.com for several years and this is the first negative review I’ve ever written. I waited a couple of weeks to reassess so I could give a fair account. According to the listing, this is a kennel-style boarding setup. We’ve used kennels before when needed and have always had good experiences on Rover, so we expected the same standard here. That did not happen. The property is located several miles down a dirt, dusty road that was not mentioned in the bio or in any messages. We arrived a few minutes early in our truck (I’m not sure a regular car would have handled the road well). No one was visible. After the agreed drop-off time had passed, we saw a woman walking between houses. I texted the sitter with no response. The woman who eventually approached was the sitter’s mother—very polite, but clearly unprepared. She had us sign a boarding contract (she said Rover doesn’t always cover everything) and would not allow us to leave our dog’s blanket or food-bowl stand. Our dog was placed in an outdoor holding pen. When asked if that was where she would stay, the mother said no—she would be inside with other dogs in kennels. No tour of the facilities was offered (I should have requested one). The mother apologized for the lack of information, explaining that her daughter was away due to a death in the family but would return soon. The listing advertises grooming services. I asked about a trim and bath. The sitter later replied that she could not do a trim but could do a bath the previous day. We received no photos or videos of our dog during the stay—something every other Rover sitter has consistently provided. When we returned later that day, our dog was still in the same outdoor holding pen, sopping wet. The husband came out and said he thought our Labradoodle would have had time to dry after the bath. He showed a photo of the bath being given in a residential shower tub; there was no attempt to blow-dry her. Given the dusty, dirt surroundings, by the time we walked her from the pen to the truck her wet paws were muddy. I had a beach towel to wrap her in, but we still drove two hours home with a wet, muddy dog. In my opinion this is not a Rover.com-level experience. The family appears to be building their business, which I understand, but the lack of communication, preparation, transparency about the location and facilities, and basic care details made this a poor stay. We will not be returning.

This was our first time using Rover and it went very well. Brett and Sara took great care of Milo, our 2 year old French Bulldog. They have a great setup and lots of room for dogs to play. They clearly love dogs and it was great to know our pup was in good hands. Highly recommend!

Lilo and I both loved the remote, mountain atmosphere of Brett and Sara's farm and Retriever breeding and training center. She was at home from the moment her paws reached the ground! She also was very active during her stay, which continued once she was home. The exercise, although she does at home, was particularly good for her. She was a little miffed that I left her for 5 days, but that's just Lilo, thoroughly spoiled! I would definitely board Lilo with Brett and Sara again if travels cause us to be apart.

Sara was exceptionally accommodating of my timeline, communicated with me professionally and thoughtfully, and it was clear she cared for Crumpet on a personalized level. I am going to make up reasons to be back in this area just to enjoy the views and for my elderly Great Dane to be loved on in the same way again!

Sara was really good to work with, I felt very comfortable leaving our little 14yr old dog with her.
Sara is a good person, and we were happy to find her, she was very flexible with us, which we really appreciated. However, when we picked up our dogs, they were smelling very bad, and one of them started coughing a lot afterwards. Unfortunately, it seems like he may have gotten sick during his stay.
