Canine Retreat / Long Term Avail

Howdy yall! My name is Brett and I live in Smithville (78957), just east of Austin. My house has a 1/2 acre fenced in yard and is great for extended stays. I’ve raised many breeds of dog, including helping the birthing process! Must be friendly with other dogs, as I have dogs who get along great with all manner of beasts.

Brett took amazing care of my fur baby, Cinco, while I was out of town for an extended period. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Cinco was being cared for with the same love and attention I would give him myself. Brett followed the schedule perfectly and kept me updated with regular messages and adorable pictures, which made being away so much easier. I would absolutely recommend Brett to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I’ll definitely be using his services again whenever I need pet sitting in the future!

Brett has been a long-time and trusted dog-sitter for me for years. I always like leaving my doggos with Brett when I travel, because he has a kind and gentle approach with dogs, and they always come back happy. He's a great sitter and you'll be pleased you worked with him!

Schedule

I work from home and literally have no social life in this small town. Point is, I am a home body that is always working on my home and sanctuary. Dogs here get constant attention, treats, and lots of yard time. I love taking long walks in the neighborhood with the dogs and it’s a great area for it!

Safety, trust & environment

There are several areas for dogs to sleep and make themselves at home. Each room has a dog bed and the living room couch is owned by the dogs. I am currently kenneling one dog who has a leg injury, so I’m patient with pups and know how to administer medications.

Pets

A typical day

The first thing I do when I wake up is let the dogs out. I make coffee and watch them from the window. Then I clock in for work and usually dogs hover around my desk all day. Lunch hour is for dog times. We eat breakfast at 8:30am and dinner at 6:00pm. Often me and the dogs will sit on the porch out back.

If you are leaving town by way of the airport, I’m happy to meet someone there (given that I live rurally). You are also welcome to come to the house to drop off your furbaby, whatever works best. This space is great for longer stays.
