About Brenna D.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
My ability to connect with diverse pets sets me apart from other walkers and sitters. I am a special education teacher, so my philosophy of connecting with humans in a caring and compassionate way extends to my care and relationship with animals. I have successfully bonded with all animals-- from extremely excitable dogs to anxious cats; I understand and accept that all animals have diverse behaviors and needs, just as humans do. It is important for me to maintain safety and comfort for your pet in its home and out on walks with me; I will always follow their lead by paying close attention to their behavior cues and act within their comfort level. From adventurous, energy-expending playtime to sweet snuggles on the couch, I'm ready to offer your pet the activities they love!
Information Brenna D. would like to know about your pet
Please note that I can accommodate same day/short notice requests for *some* drop-in visits, but prefer to meet you and your pet prior to all services. When you reach out, please me know a bit about your cat and why you're requesting a service for them. It's extra helpful if all of their care and behavior info is in their Rover profile, but if not I will be sure to gather it. I'll likely ask additional questions at our Meet & Greet; please feel free to ask me any as well!
A typical day
DROP-IN VISITS: includes all care your pet needs (feedings, litter scooping, and playtime). Drop-ins start at 30 minutes, which work well for most cats to get all their needs met. I recommend longer drop ins for social cats who might need a lot of playtime and/or human interaction. I'll be sure your pet is comfortable & safe during our visit and your time away. I'll follow their lead and ensure I'm interacting with them in the way they like best. ----------------- WALKS (currently not offered): I love walks just as much as your dog does, so they'll get lots of exercise. I'm always happy to do some jogging for pups who need to blow off more energy! During hot times of day, I will give your dog lots of breaks in the shade and bring a Cool Towel to keep them from getting overheated. Safety is always my priority, so if it is too hot to have paws on the ground, we will find a grassy or shaded place to play. HOUSE SITTING (currently not offered): overnight care customized to your pet's individual needs. All walks, feedings, playtimes, and any other pet needs are included.

Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Brenna, an avid animal lover with a lifelong passion for compassionate and safe cat care! My biggest goal is to keep your cats safe, happy, and healthy while you are away. My understanding of cats and their care is extensive; I pride myself on understanding their unique language and behavior cues. I acknowledge that cats ARE social animals who need quality activity and attention. I'll give them as much playtime, snuggles, and love as they like! A bit more about me: It has been a lifelong passion of mine to spend time with animals, maintain a safe and consistent space for them, and build a trusting connection with them. I have 20 years of experience caring for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fish, birds, and other small animals. My volunteer experience at humane societies and the Denver Zoo has reinforced my love for and understanding of animals. I currently live with naturally shy, anxious, and sometimes moody kitty, and cat behavior is one of my special interests; I spend a lot of my free time researching cat behavior to be knowledgeable about their communication and needs. I have lived with large dog breeds (huskies and malamutes) so I am very accustomed to behaviors that require a lot of responsibility, such as managing pups who pull on walks and keeping escape artists from getting loose. Additionally, I'm trained in CPR and first aid and understand how to preform these on your pet if needed. I always carry a pet first aid kit with me while caring for your pet, in addition to extra pet supplies!
Reviews

Brenna has watched my cat multiple times now, and I’m so grateful to have her during these trips. I might not be able to travel without her, and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a reliable, competent, communicative sitter.

Amazing as usual!

Brenna is the best you can find. She’s attentive, intuitive, communicative and experienced. I think my cat will miss her a lot!

Brenna always take such good care of my cat!
