Pet care experience

Attentive Dog & Cat Enthusiast

I have independently cared for my own pets for my entire adult life. Currently, I care for two cat companions. I also help the TNRed community cats that live around my neighborhood (I always name the regulars and chat with them from a comfortable distance). I love letting dogs and cats explore the outdoors on leashed walks (yes, I can walk a harness-trained cat!). I am experienced giving scheduled medicine and feeding pets on special diets. I am happy to learn about and care for the special needs of your pets. I can't wait to work with you and your fur babies! I am an instructor at a university, so I have less availability Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the fall and spring semesters during lectures and meetings. I will be available mornings (4:30 AM to 6 AM) and evenings (any time after 4:30 PM). I wake up early daily and can assist with pet care very early morning! My current and former pets each have all had their quirks and personality, but ultimately, I have always worked my hardest to make them feel safe and very loved. My priority is a routine, consistent, and currated schedule for pets that aims to prevent hunger, dehydration, and inside accidents while optimizing exercise, mental stimulation, and cuddles. I have experience with both trained and untrained dogs; friendly and shy cats; and everything between! I am familiar with crate training schedules, positive reinforcement (treat administration, affirming tone, etc), and spatial training with dogs that jump or lunge. I am a cat lover and have never met one I disliked! I can also work with dietary and eating routines for dogs and cats.

Safety, trust & environment

Pet safety is very important to me as a sitter! I will always make sure that I locked up all entryways before ending my visit. All items taken out for the visit (food, toys, leash, etc) will be returned to their designated spots prior to my departure.

Hands down the best cat sitter in Memphis! Our cat may like Brenna more than she likes us! :)

Another excellent sit. Tons of photos and detailed feedback. I felt like I was still at home with my cat. Will happily book again.

I would like to have an active conversation about your pets prior to our first sitting. Is your dog scared of anything in particular? Where might your cat be hiding during my first few visits? What is your pet's personality like on a normal day, and what changes might mean your pet is overly stressed? What types of exercise (and for how long) is your pet used to? Does your dog have any injuries or illnesses I should know about? Optimally we can ask each other questions and give some answers so we are on the same page!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
