Pet care experience

your pet's new bestie 🥰

Hello, I’m a Brown University graduate who gave up on the corporate life to live off my art and my passion for animals. I’ve always had pets in my life, especially cats, and I’ve been caring for them since I was a kid. Growing up, I also helped watch my neighbors’ pets whenever they needed an extra hand. Now, I’m a proud dog mom to Bonnie, a sweet Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix I share with my partner. Because she’s our first dog, we dove deep into research—while at Brown, we studied canine behavior and body language to better understand how dogs communicate and what they need to feel safe and happy. That knowledge has been invaluable in helping us welcome pet guests into our home. When your pets stay with us, they’ll be treated just like Bonnie—with cuddles, love, fun walks, playtime, and plenty of care. My goal is always to make them feel at home, comfortable, and loved.

Brenda was a great sitter. She was very patient with our girl who was a bit anxious the first few days but Brenda was communicative and worked with Maisie to get her comfortable and settled and happy. She took Maisie on walks and to the dog park and gave her lots of love and care. Bonnie (resident dog) is a sweet playful girl and the dogs got along really well and had lots of play time. I would highly recommend Brenda as a sitter and Bonnie as co-sitter.

Brenda is one of the most reliable and caring people I know, and I can’t think of anyone better suited to look after pets. She grew up surrounded by cats and today is the proud owner of Bonnie, her sweet but cautious dog. What has always impressed me is how patient and understanding Brenda is with Bonnie, earning her trust through consistency, kindness, and respect for her boundaries. I’ve seen firsthand how she takes the time to make Bonnie feel safe and loved, and it’s clear how much happier Bonnie is because of her. Besides her own dog, Brenda has also cared for pets belonging to friends and family. She understands the responsibility that comes with being trusted with someone’s beloved companion, and she takes it seriously. With Brenda, pets receive not only excellent care but genuine love. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone.

Brenda has had a special connection with animals her whole life. Her first cat, Lala, was her companion from childhood until 2019, and it was incredible to see how dedicated and loving she was in caring for her over the years. That same care and empathy shines through with every pet she meets—she truly understands how they feel and makes them feel safe and loved. Even now, living in the U.S. while we are in Brazil, Brenda still asks for photos and video calls just to see our cats and talk to them, showing how deeply she cares. Anyone who knows Brenda can see that pets aren’t just animals to her—they’re family. She is thoughtful, responsible, and attentive, and I have no doubt she’ll treat any pet as if it were her own.

Safety, trust & environment

The first priority for me when caring for animals is safety. I pay close attention to the environment and make sure pets are always comfortable and secure. For dogs, I have a safe yard where they can play, take potty breaks, or just relax outside. I also live in a very pet-friendly neighborhood, perfect for safe walks and trips to the park. For cats, my home is equipped with window protection so they can’t slip outside (unless they are leash-trained or outdoor cats whose owners prefer outside time). I always respect each owner’s preferences—whether that means leash walks, indoor-only care, or a specific routine. If not in my own house, it's my pleasure to go to the owners house to take care of the cats! I will check the whole house to make sure everything is in order, clean everything, feed, hang out and play with the little ones! I pay attention to each animal’s unique needs. I believe communication is key, so I’ll always ask questions and keep in touch to make sure we’re on the same page.

Pets

A typical day

A Typical Day with Dogs A day with me usually starts with a nice walk for potty time, followed by breakfast and some playtime—whether that’s catch, tug-of-war, or just running around in the yard. After that, there’s always time for cuddles and relaxation. Sometimes I can even wind down with Bonnie’s favorite—watching dog documentaries together! And of course, special treats like pup cups make the day even brighter. A Typical Day with Cats Cats get just as much love and attention, tailored to their personalities. We’ll play with toy mice, fishing pole toys, or enjoy a little chase around the house. In between play sessions, there’s plenty of petting, cozy spots to lounge in, and quiet companionship to make them feel at home.

I like to know as much as possible about your pet beforehand so I can give them the best care. Please share: • Their daily routine (feeding times, walk schedule, potty breaks). • Any health needs, medications, or allergies. • How they do with other dogs/cats and people. • Their energy level and favorite activities. • Any rules at home you’d like me to follow (furniture, treats, crate training, etc.). • Triggers or fears (loud noises, separation, certain environments).
