20+ Year Animal Care Professional
I’ve worked professionally as a horse trainer, wildlife rehabilitator, zookeeper, animal cruelty investigator and farm animal sanctuary manager. As of 2026 I now offer sitting and boarding for dogs and cats in my home or yours. In my home, your dog or cat would have the space exclusively to themselves as there are no other animals or kids in the house. I can also service horse farms including feeding, cleaning and overnight stays. I know how much trust it takes to leave your animals with someone else, and I don't take that lightly. I guarantee that your animals will feel safe and comfortable with me, and you'll rest easy knowing they're in experienced hands. I look forward to working with you!

Ratings and reviews
Brece is an amazing dog sitter! I have two high-maintenance, anxious dogs and they adore Brece and the time they get to spend at his house. I feel confident leaving my dogs with Brece. He is thoughtful, kind, responsible, and experienced. My dogs even get excited when we turn onto his street! They love the fenced backyard and feel right at home. Brece gives my dogs medication with no problem and makes sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and time outside when they want it. He is also great to work with: reliable and conscientious. I feel confident Brece could handle any situation while I’m away, and the dogs are always happy and content when I return. So glad we found Brece!

Brece was awesome with my 2 senior dogs. It’s obvious that he genuinely enjoys canine companionship. He stayed on top of meds and belly band changing, and his fenced backyard is perfect for free running. My guys enjoyed their stay. Thanks Brece!

Finding the right person to care for my dog Shelby was a time-consuming process, particularly because she is 13 years old, requires separation from other dogs, and her sight and hearing are declining. Despite Brece residing an hour away from my home, he graciously offered to have a trial sleepover to see how Shelby would do at his home prior to my 12-day trip. The trial went well and Shelby had no difficulties staying with Brece during the trial. Although I informed Brece that Shelby typically skips a couple meals when I am away, he took the initiative to buy a nutritious broth to mix with her food, ensuring she would eat while I was gone. I am now giving the same broth to Shelby; thank you, Brece! Brece took her for walks a couple times each day, and I received updates along with adorable photos, and it was clear that Shelby was happy, safe, and loved. Once I returned home, Shelby was relaxed and wagging her tail. I would certainly choose to book with Brece again, and I highly recommend that you do the same. Again, thank you Brece for taking good care of my little girl.

Brece has a true gift with animals. He is not just a pet sitter — he is a strong animal advocate and deeply compassionate soul who genuinely understands the emotional and physical needs of the animals in his care. There is something natural and intuitive about the way he connects with them. He seems to simply *know* what an animal needs — whether that’s play, calm presence, food, structure, affection, or quiet reassurance. His integrity is impeccable. Brece keeps his word, shows up consistently, and takes his responsibilities seriously. When your beloved pet is with him, you can relax knowing they are not only safe, but truly cared for. ---He treats every animal as an individual with dignity and respect. Any pet would be blessed to be in Brece’s care. And any guardian would feel peace of mind knowing their animal companion is with someone so trustworthy, attentive, and kind.
Brece is such a caring man- he literally treats our herd like family. We operate an animal sanctuary, and Brece's love and care for our fur family has been such a gift. He is always accountable, suggests things that they might need; and goes the extra mile. He is very knowledgeable about animals, and instinctively knows what they need. I would recommend Brece to be on the top of your list to consider.
Brece was raised on a farm and animals have always been a large part of his life. He has worked and volunteered at multiple animal sanctuaries. I know no one who cares for the well being of animals than Brece. He has a degree from Grand Valley University in biology and animal wildlife. I highly recommend Brece for this position.

Schedule
I work mostly from home, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, exercise, outdoor time in my fenced yard, and companionship without long absences.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable experience based on each pet’s personality and needs. In my home, dogs have a peaceful environment and access to my fully fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time. Because I work mostly from home and don’t have other animals right now, I’m able to give them consistent attention, companionship, and a relaxed setting. For cats, I have a private bedroom available for those who may feel uneasy at first or need their own space. The room includes a cat tower, cozy cubbies, and a full bed with soft blankets arranged into comfortable nesting spots. This gives them a quiet place to decompress and adjust at their own pace, while still receiving attentive care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal feeding, exercise, and care routine so things feel familiar and low stress. I’m respectful of both the pet and the home, and I’m attentive to details like energy level, mood, and overall wellbeing. I also provide regular updates so you know your pet is comfortable and doing well.
A typical day
For overnight stays, dogs typically sleep either in my bedroom or in their crate—whatever they’re most comfortable with. Cats stay safely in my room or the spare bedroom so they have a calm, secure space. Our mornings start with a potty break, breakfast, any needed morning medications, and a chewy treat. In the afternoon, dogs can explore the backyard, which is full of interesting smells and wildlife to watch. If your pet enjoys playtime, the yard is great for a game of fetch, tug-of-war, or chase. Inside the house the atmosphere is calm and cozy. Pets are welcome to relax on the couch, curl up on a pet bed, or sit in the bay window and watch the neighborhood. In the evening, pets have dinner and take any evening medications, followed by more outdoor time. Then we wind down together on the couch before one final potty break and settling in for the night.
