Bre was really good about keeping me updated on Betty and taking her on walks. She left the house very nice.

We selected Breanca based upon her prior reviews and number of repeat clients. She and her partner, Ashley, stopped by prior to our confirming our booking to meet her and see how our dog responded. That all went fine. We booked Breanca and provided her our list of instructions, contact info, etc. We also asked if she was having anyone over to please notify us in advance. There was a bit of a mix up with picking up the key. Ashley arrived after we called Breanca reminding her of the key pick up plan. Breanca doesn't drive so it wasn't unusual for Ashley to do key pick up. We left town expecting Breanca to arrive at our home early in the afternoon to let the dog out and get settled. We saw on our doorbell camera that Ashley arrived alone. That evening she had a guest arrive at our home in the late evening. A male that we didn't know or were notified of. Our security system notified us that a glass break sensor housing had been opened and closed, this hasn't ever happened before, unless we are changing the battery. This caused concern as it woke my wife up in the middle of the night. The unknown man left the following morning. We reached out to Breanca but heard back from Ashley. She apologized for not informing us of having a guest and said she had no knowledge of the glass break sensor issue. She also mentioned that she would be having her daughter over to visit. Over the next few days, we only saw Ashley at our home, never Breanca. Ashley's daughter, 10 years old, arrived and stayed the balance of the time we were away. This included time when Ashley left the house, but the daughter remained. This also included the daughter walking the dog by herself. None of this was what we had signed up for. Fortunately, we returned home to a mostly clean home. Our dog was extra ecstatic to see us to the point of whimpering. She hasn't done this before with other house sitters. We never heard or saw Breanca. We asked Ashley to leave the house key behind and explained how to leave the house locked upon her exit. We feel like we signed up for one person's bio and instead got a whole different person. Was Ashley background checked? Is she the sitter that the reviews are based on? We wished we had known in advance. We have used Rover.com for house sitter referrals knowing that the service does a background check on each sitter and stands behind its list of service providers. We hired Breanca assuming it was her that she would be our only if not primary house sitter. We are disappointed in the result of our situation. Thankfully, our home and dog seem to have recovered from the experience. We won’t be using Rover going forward
