I have an elderly Yorkshire Terrier whom I have cared for since she was a puppy, so I am very experienced in providing consistent, long-term care for a much-loved pet. She is a gentle and affectionate dog who enjoys plenty of attention and companionship, and looking after her has reinforced the importance of patience, routine, and creating a calm, reassuring environment. As she is now blind, I also have hands-on experience supporting a pet with additional and more complex needs. This includes being mindful of her surroundings, maintaining a safe and predictable home environment, and adapting my approach to ensure she remains comfortable and confident. Caring for her has strengthened my ability to be attentive, responsive, and sensitive to subtle changes in behaviour or wellbeing. Overall, this experience means I am very comfortable adapting to the individual needs of different animals, and I am committed to providing thoughtful, reliable care tailored to each pet’s specific requirements.
