Pet care experience

I love dogs! I work from home, so your fur baby will get attention all day. I am a homeowner with tons of toys, and plenty of time to play with and love on your pup. While your dog is vacationing with me, I do my best to follow his or her normal routine and schedule closely. I love playtime and make sure all of our furry friends get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. If your pet has unique needs, I’m always happy to discuss accommodations ahead of time. My home is a dog-friendly family environment with a fully screened-in lanai and tile/hardwood flooring throughout the home. I’m located in the Bartram Park area. For boarding stays, please send only the items your dog truly needs during their visit. While I do my best to keep track of belongings, I care for multiple dogs at times, so I recommend keeping sentimental or irreplaceable items safely at home.

I was unfortunately quite unhappy with my experience with Brad. While he was responsive to messages, the very few instructions I provided were not followed. Romeo has had two surgeries on his neck and back, so I specifically asked that he not be allowed to jump on and off furniture, that he be fed dinner between 5:30–6:30pm, and that he not be left home alone. The drop-off was at 1pm and pickup was scheduled between 6–7pm. Brad had confirmed he would be home all day after church, so I didn’t bring Romeo’s crate in case he needed to be left alone. When our plans changed and I asked to pick Romeo up early around 3:45pm, Brad told me he was out getting groceries and would be home in about 30 minutes. When I asked if Romeo was home alone, he said Romeo was with his son but that he was uncomfortable with his son doing the handoff. This concerned me since I was paying for Brad’s supervision and had been told he would be home. When I arrived, I also learned Romeo had already been fed earlier in the afternoon, despite my request that he be fed between 5:30–6:30pm. Additionally, I heard another dog barking during pickup, though there had been no mention of another dog in the home when I booked. Because of Romeo’s back issues, his interactions with other dogs need to be monitored. Overall, the experience left me feeling uneasy, particularly given Romeo’s medical history and the importance of following the instructions provided for his safety.
