In our home: Your dog will have free range of our entire home and fully-fenced acre with access to fresh drinking water at all times. There are several dog beds and toys around the house. Our resident pup Poppy is happy to share! Note: My doggie day care rate covers up to six daytime hours (between 8am - 6pm). We can add more time (starting at +$20) so you don't have to rush doing fun human-only activities. Special requests are always welcome.

Information Bonnie K. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know at the time of your booking of any known behavioral quirks (i.e., maybe your dog is reactive to other dogs on leash, guards her food bowl, is still a big pup with that big exuberant energy, has "separation anxiety", or is a Houdini!). Nothing about a pup is a problem. We can work with most anything if we are adequately informed and prepared beforehand. Thank you for helping me help you! 🙏
A typical day
Our prairie dog town provides nearly endless sniffing, digging, chasing, hunting, and stalking opportunities: all those great enrichment mental and physical activities that keep our doggos healthy and happy. Our resident dog Poppy is nearly always up for a snuggly nap or wrestling session - she lets your dog decide on their level of engagement. Our guest pups also have their choice of back patio snoozing, sunbathing on the soft pasture soil, or taking an indoor siesta... basically they can choose wherever they feel most safe throughout the day.

Pet care experience
Self-identified nature and animal lover, in transition from attorney to chaplaincy and mindfulness meditation teacher. I have cared for dogs for over 20 years, from zoomie puppies to slow-moving seniors. I am comfortable administering medication and feeding whatever combo of kibble+/-wet food your pup enjoys. Belly rubs and nature walks are always on offer. All are welcome here.
Reviews

We could not have asked for a sweeter more conscientious caregiver! She made Roxie feel comfortable and she was great with communicating with us and even sent photos. Our fur baby had a fun day with her new friends!

Bonnie is very personable and took great care of our two dogs! She was willing to take our dogs on short notice and her communication was great! We live out of state, but would definitely use Bonnie’s services again if we were in Taos. Excellent experience.

As clarification first, this is a joint review from two Rover users. Let’s start with the good news: lots of space for large, leggy, dogs to get a good run. Especially appropriate for dogs that do well in dog parks and have day care experience. My 4-year-old pup enjoyed playing in--and wearing--the Taos dirt and rough-housing with the other dogs. On the downside: not a place that is very good for dogs in the summer time. There is no shade and it’s a very hot place on a hot day. There is a room on the back of Bonnie’s trailer where the dogs can get inside. It is not air-conditioned and felt similar to being enclosed in a car. We were not invited to see the inside of her house even though she said the dogs are also welcome to be inside the house. We have no idea if her home is air-conditioned or if the dogs really do go inside. Bonnie has made it sound as if she’s very experienced with all ages and types of dogs and has an environment where she manages all kinds of experiences. I personally think she is over her head and I have no idea how she has gotten so many five star ratings. Dogs were unsupervised in the yard when we arrived and appeared over heated. I have a five month old puppy, she picked him up and she promptly dropped him on his head as if she didn’t know a puppy wiggles. Bonnie was way too casual about almost everything. In addition to the vet appointment, we needed to observe our puppy closely for the rest of our time in town. It could have been much much worse. I can’t imagine any type of old dog or puppy, or small dog or any dog that is fragile in anyway in this environment. Also, Bonnie is responsive to last minute requests which can be either a good thing or a bad thing. You are likely to get your dog in, but won’t know how many dogs are being managed with yours or how she would even separate them if she had to.

Amazing! Charlie came back to us so tired and happy! Nothing feels better then knowing someone really cared for your dog! And Bonnie sure did that!
