Availability

I work at home full-time during the week and am able to board dogs and cats who don't require constant attention while I'm working. I take short breaks every couple of hours to check on everyone and take them out for potty breaks. Evenings we have some time to sit together or possibly go for a walk if it is good weather and not too hot. On weekends I have more time to spend with your pet. I accept dogs for daycare, but we are not the place for you if your intention is for your dog to get a lot of playtime with other dogs. My own dogs sleep much of the day, and I generally only bring in one or two extras at a time. I can host your dog for the day, but I don’t have a lot of time to play with them. They will need to be able to just relax or play independently while I am working. I board cats in my home and can keep them in a separate room or let them into the living area if they are comfortable around dogs and other cats. I can also do drop in visits to your home if your cat is independent and prefers their own environment.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a large, fenced backyard that allows for dogs to run and play safely outside. Inside, most of the time pets are able to roam freely through the house, but I need to be able to put your pet in a crate for a while if they are going potty in the house or not getting along with other animals. Cats who are boarded can be kept in a room away from other pets or allowed to roam freely throughout the house if they like.

Information Bonnie & Chris R. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog potty trained and up to date on vaccinations? Does it get along with other dogs and cats? Is it crate trained? Does it sleep through the night?

A typical day

Your pet can run around and play alone or with new friends in our large fenced backyard, based on temperament and preferences. We have a swimming pool that dogs can use if they like to swim, or a kiddie pool if they just like to play and cool off in shallow water. We also enjoy walking dogs on the sidewalks of our gated community when it’s not too hot, and once in a while we take dogs to the dog beach.

Paws Are Us 🐾

Pet care experience

We are ready to give some loving care to your pet! As animal lovers and pet parents who like to travel ourselves, our desire is to give you the opportunity to get away knowing that your fur babies are in good hands, without adding a lot of additional cost to your travel! We can care for dogs or cats in our home or yours. However, we have several pets of our own, both dogs and cats, so we are only able to host pets who will fit in well with our furry family. Although I’d love to help out as many pet parents as possible, with respect for my own pets, I have to limit the large dogs I bring into my home to those who are basically low energy. If your large dog regularly bounces around like Tigger or runs like a freight train, he would be more than I can deal with in my home, but I’d be happy to do drop in visits for you instead. Small energetic dogs are not a problem unless they are going to bark constantly at the other animals around them. Also, please note that if your pet needs constant surveillance to keep out of trouble, they are likely not a good fit. For those I would recommend looking for a sitter who does it full time without having other work to attend to. When your pet stays in our home, we treat them as a part of our family as much as possible, while at the same time trying to stay pretty close to the routine you have established for them at home.We will keep in touch daily with updates and photos. We all like to take pictures, so hopefully we will catch some good shots of your pets during their stay! Bonnie works full-time from an office at home, Monday through Friday, while Chris is out of the home many hours a week running his own business. Pets who are boarded during the week need to either be crate-trained or able to stay out of trouble alone during the day, with a little attention and potty break every couple of hours. They will have time to enjoy our company and activities with the family in the evening and on weekends. We have a large, fenced backyard for dogs to run and play and "do their business." Our dogs get along well with most animals, even though our smaller one likes to make it known that she’s the alpha dog. We'd be happy to host a meet and greet at our home so you can get to know us before your pet's stay if you live locally. As we have learned from experience, puppies under one year old often require extra attention and cleaning up after, so our puppy care rate is higher to compensate for the extra effort needed to care for these precious little ones. If your puppy is fully potty trained and able to be unattended for a couple of hours at a time, I am willing to discuss the possibility of a lower rate for your stay. Visits to your nearby home or dog walks would be available evenings during the week and possibly midday, with availability during the days and evenings Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are willing to care for any pets in your home with fur, hair or feathers! Turtles and small reptiles are an option as well, but please no snakes! We have experience caring for puppies and kittens through senior-aged dogs and cats as well as special needs pets. Oral medications are no problem, but we do not do injections. We hope to hear from you soon! Note: you must have a valid drivers license with you to come into our community. Other forms of ID are not accepted at the gate.

Bonnie was great. She texted several times each day and sent pictures. My two dogs seemed to really enjoy there time with her. I would definitely use her and Chris again.
