Before transitioning into animal care, I spent over a decade serving my community as a firefighter and paramedic. During that time, I not only cared for people during emergencies but also had the privilege of rescuing animals from fires and other emergency situations. I also completed Basic Animal Rescue Technician (BART) training, giving me additional knowledge in safely handling and caring for animals during stressful situations. Those experiences reinforced the importance of remaining calm under pressure, paying close attention to details, and treating every life with compassion and respect. I've spent years around dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments, including training my own service dog using positive, relationship-based methods.
