Safety, trust & environment
Care in my home: I do not have a fence which I prefer because it gives a lot of free roaming space for my dog and other dogs. I always make sure to practice meticulous leash training and exploring with the dogs. Sometimes it is even better that way to keep their attention engaged and structure their walks so that they are well stimulated after their walks and have little energy for escape stunts! 15-20 minutes of sniffari's is equivalent to 1 hour of physical exertion for these common domestic furry friends. Care in your home: There is nothing they like more than classical conditioning reinforcement, if necessary. This means I try to do some training tricks which keep them engaged and stimulated. I make sure to address any specific instructions from you and ask questions. If I see the animal tends to have a bad habit at something specific I will check with you to see if they would be okay with my mitigation of the situation: i.e.) if a puppy likes to chew at chords I would ask you if you are okay with me putting the chords in unreachable places around the home or unplugging them. Of course, knowing there is a possibility that I may have to keep up with that task throughout the service. I make sure to keep doors locked of any rooms that the animals are not allowed in. I also reset everything in your home as you left it, unless otherwise requested differently.

Information Beverly Anais R. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has special needs or is allergic to any type of food or environment. Let me know if your pet has special care instructions that I need to account for like long term or short term pill medications, or diet. I already deal with a difficult breed so I like to know of any particular behavioral quirks that your dog may have to see if I can help them and you!
A typical day
I love to stimulate your animals physically and mentally. This is why I try to structure their walks as best as I can so that they can get the best out of that walk. I love to play games with them too, as long as they know how to safely. I play bird sound videos/audios while boarding or day care at home, or even while I drop in to your home. For longer services I make sure to have a "calming time" where we just settle to do nothing. Some high energy breeds really benefit from this technique. I give them pets if they let me once we have finished business outside or a meal until it is time to leave! I try to not make a big deal of coming in for drop-ins and leaving since that can affect the animal's anxieties.

Pet care experience
Hi! I am new to SC, recently moved from FL, and new to Rover. However, I am not new to caring for domestic animals! I have been taking care of dogs since I was 12. I have an accumulated 10 years of experience with dogs, cats, and birds. The animals I have been able to care for have been my own, family's and friend's. I am an ex-military spouse. I've done day care, house sitting, boarding, and drop-in visits for people with high security profiles. I have experience with puppies, senior or ill animals, shelter history animals, and difficult intelligent stubborn and power, and herding breeds. I use positive rewarding with the animals and I believe this paired with other training methodologies work best for your pets life-long learning (an animal never stops training). I also use pet corrector aerosol for breaking up or stopping any unwanted behavior that otherwise would injure me to do by force or if the breed is much larger than me and leash pulls or lunges a lot (I weigh 100lbs and I am 4'11"! I need all the non-forceful and safest enhancements I can get). It works really well and I recommend to all dog owners that have a hard time stopping behavior without e-collars, chokers, etc. Dakota, my dog has never had an e-collar and she behaves really well and is obedient thanks to its help and to additional amateur training I did with her by myself. I clean/disinfect my home every day in the mornings and at night, between visits, and at your home services so that areas where the animals are at are hygienic. I have experience making homemade meals for dogs. I have experience with mitigating and adjusting for allergies. I can identify behavioral issues like reactivity, anxiety, high prey drive, and boredom in a dog in order to mitigate it and correct it if necessary. I want their success and their ease while they are in my care. I try to make most walks structured walks so that way your furry friend has some stimulation even on short walks. I clean up any Oopsies the doggy may have done inside of the home. Prices may vary. I do walks 4 times in the day when at my home and 2 while I am away at work and depending on the weather. I give baths as long as the dog is safe and comfortable and if necessary. Prices vary.

Reviews

Beverly was excellent, and we highly recommend her. We have an elderly large-breed dog who has become increasingly difficult to dog sit due to occasional episodes of aggression and reactivity. We were upfront about these challenges, and Beverly approached the situation with professionalism, confidence, and compassion from day one. During her visits, there were moments when our dog snapped at her, yet Beverly remained calm, maintained control of the situation, and continued providing excellent care. Her experience and comfort around challenging dogs were evident, and we always felt that our dog was in capable hands. What truly set Beverly apart was her dedication and communication. Every drop-in visit came with an incredibly detailed report card, complete with updates on his behavior, activities, and overall well-being. Those updates gave us tremendous reassurance while we were away. Most importantly, Beverly gave us peace of mind. Being able to enjoy our family vacation knowing that our dog was being cared for by someone reliable, patient, and committed was invaluable.

Was willing to help me out with a pretty inconvenient schedule (daily, early morning and again late evening). Always kept us informed with how things were going, followed all the various procedures we gave her, and sent pictures. Responded to communication quickly and was very easy to work with. We had unorthodox pets to watch, too: chickens. Beverly got to know them over the week and work with each of their personalities.

Absolutely perfect couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Sent updates throughout the visit and will definitely be booking again! 💕

Beverly really came in clutch in a last minute pinch! Thank you for spending quality time with my pup and being so great! Will definitely rebook :)
